@kickassbrie Salary starts a little lower than most technical roles, but if you think maps are neat it’s a rewarding career.

@kickassbrie School helps but it’s not a deal breaker. There are field tech jobs doing data collection for experience too. If you are able to put together some small projects using ESRI ARCGIS and SQL server (both free) then you will definitely have the experience to join the workforce.

@kickassbrie But yes, PMP is a resume capstone if you can qualify for it. Absolutely worth the time, money, and effort.

@kickassbrie PMP is unfortunately the standard for most places, which you need 3 years of verifiable experience to get. CAPM is the next closest if you don’t qualify. Don’t waste your time on the Google certs. They cover the same content but the cert isn’t as credible sadly.
