This week, we presented Medical First Response (MFR) Recognition Certificates to Sexsmith firefighters Justin Reed and Ethan Heyn, as well as three members of the Wembley Fire Department. The MFR program recognizes the excellent work in providing life-saving patient care.
Amazing things happen when our community comes together! On May 30th, Camrose & area Paramedics, Police, Firefighters, and community partners proudly raised $10,865.65 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during the First Responder BBQ. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Our Rapid Access Paramedics, Public Safety Unit & command post staff were happy to attend the Lilac Festival held in Calgary. Paramedics, along with other first responder & community partners, were on site to care for event participants, attendees & community members.

Alta Paramedic Health in Grande Prairie & Peace River were excited to attend two North Zone events, the Peace River Trade Show & Grand Prairie Youth Expo earlier in May. Paramedics had the chance to engage with ~40 high school students in some extraordinary hands-on experience!
Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RHPAP) has helped rural Alberta communities attract health providers since 1991. At a recent RHPAP event, Alta Paramedic Health (APH) exhibited their ambulance and provided career info on APH roles including Emergency Communication Officers.

Paramedics attended the Medicine Hat Annual Spectrum Festival for their First Responder Day with many local allied emergency services. They had a great time discussing safety, what to do in an emergency, and showing the public the ambulance and equipment. It was a beautiful day!
Alberta Paramedics partnered with Didsbury RCMP, Fire Department, Peace Officers & Didsbury High School for a simulated motor vehicle collision to promote safe and wise decisions both for the upcoming gradation season and beyond. Please do not drive while impaired or distracted.

ALTA Paramedic Health in Grande Prairie had the honour of recognizing five citizens for their life-saving actions during a cardiac arrest emergency. From calling 911, retrieving an AED, and performing CPR, each person played a critical role in a remarkable community response.
