Oh hey Calgary, if you’ve not signed the @forevervanadian petition yet, there’s some wonderful volunteers by the Glendale Community Hall ready for you to get it done!!
Today. Sept 4, 2025 Pierre Poilievre has been leader of the @CPC_HQ for 1,090 days without having sought top secret security clearance.
My take: He knows he can't get it, so he makes up excuses not to even apply.
The @CPC_HQ should make that a requirement for all leaders.
This is what a 10year old girl soccer player looks like.
I know bc she is me.
I was reminded constantly that I didn’t look how a girl “should” look and that really sucked.
The only thing policing gender will do is make kids feel bad about themselves.
Wake Up Albertans, my husband and I just got this email from DDRC. UCP is planning on cancelling AISH and replacing it with their own ADAP program:
“We are reaching out with urgency about the Alberta government's proposed replacement for AISH, the Alberta Disability Assistance Program (ADAP). The changes under consideration will have serious and harmful impacts on Albertans with severe disabilities.”
The government's feedback window closes September 12, 2025. This is the one chance to influence a program that will directly shape the lives of tens of thousands of vulnerable Albertans.
If ADAP moves forward as outlined
* A $200/month cut is coming. A temporary transition benefit would only delay the cut until January 1, 2028.
* New applicants after July 2026 would face the lower rate immediately.
The consequences are clear: deeper poverty, reduced dignity, and increased hardship.
Act Now - Your Voice is Critical
We urge you to speak up today. Policymakers must hear that Albertans reject changes that strip support from people with disabilities.
Here's how you can respond:

“The banning of books is a hallmark of censorship, not democracy.”
Literature is a lifeline for many students. Through the word, we learn about the world around us.
It is time to end this dangerous censorship and promote critical thinking in schools.
