If you’re curious about a Comms role with a focus on reaching survivors who are going through the civil legal process feel free to DM me any questions!
It was such a great experience running the first ever Comms-themed conference for @scotwomensaid last week!
I've been able to learn so much in the sector about survivor experience and it's truly shaped how I work. Huge thanks to the organising team, attendees and facilitators 🎉
Such incredible discussion this morning regarding the ethics of survivor-centred projects and so excited to implement these conversations in future research!!
Delighted to hear about this incredible and valuable pilot service, which will make support more accessible to survivors! RCS have always been a needs-led, survivor-led org and the implementation of a new webchat is just indicative of this.
Fantastic work by @rapecrisisscot!
@DavidPaisley I’m so sorry to hear this David, it’s just awful that you don’t feel safe anymore. Thank you for being such a brilliant advocate and for always caring about the queer community and survivors.
I wish you all the best in your future!
I’ve been in the Comms role with GWA for over a year now, it’s a great opportunity to use your writing and design skills for a great cause - if anyone has questions about the role please feel free to drop me a DM 👏

A police force already drunk on power cannot be trusted with more.
Yet this is what the government want to give them in the #PoliceCrackdownBill. Last night’s events show that this must be stopped.
No more police powers. More police powers means more violence against women.
This. Those men were destroying benches in George Square, setting off flares and most of them weren’t wearing masks. A few got fines. Women are paying their respects to a woman murdered by the police and silently protesting but are forcibly removed and shoved to the ground.
@JoEdwards41 So, last weekend at the Rangers game the police walked with the crowd side by side. The police here are restraining the women violently. Last week the football crowd was mainly men.
But when does this ever get spoken about? I hope that this can be some kind of turning point, so many women and people deserve better and should be able to live a life without fear
The statement from @metpoliceuk telling women what happened is “incredibly rare” is just not true. This kind of violence happens all the time but just isn’t reported on or it’s behind closed doors. Women of colour, trans women & non binary people experience high rates of violence
So excited to have been able to produce the content for this week, it’s such an incredible project by both the CYP staff and of course the children and young people GWA supports 👏

While a statement can be appreciated, it has only come after a long time of trans people having to actively put themselves in harms way to speak out on their experiences. There needs to be more done.
There is no “if” in this situation - transphobia has been rife within @theSNP, trans people have been telling us this for months - but cis people didn’t listen or take action
