We extend our appreciation to the 𝐒𝐓𝟒𝐀 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 who joined the Ukarimu Academy team in delivering a three-week intensive bootcamp for Cohort I of the 𝐖𝐞𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 & 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭.

The program brought together youth- and women-led tourism enterprises from the Albertine region, equipping participants with practical skills and business strategies across key areas, including:

* Green business development
* Digital transformation and IT processes
* Regulatory compliance
* Marketing, branding, and visibility

Through hands-on learning, collaborative engagement, and tailored capacity-building sessions, participants strengthened their ability to build resilient, sustainable, and competitive tourism enterprises. The journey continues through structured virtual mentorship and on-the-ground follow-up support to ensure lasting impact.

This Project is implemented by Einstein Rising and @EyeOpenerWorks through @UkarimuAcademy, in partnership with @EnabelinUganda and @RwenzoriAcademy, advancing inclusive economic opportunities and sustainable growth within the tourism sector.

This month, together with our partners, we officially commenced the 3-week intensive bootcamp under the 𝐖𝐞𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 & 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, bringing together youth- and women-led tourism enterprises from the Rwenzori–Albertine region.

The bootcamp is designed to equip participants with practical business training, mentorship, and market linkages to strengthen and grow sustainable tourism enterprises within their communities.

“The WeWork Green & Decent Jobs for Youth in Sustainable Tourism Project” is implemented by Einstein Rising and @EyeOpenerWorks through the @UkarimuAcademy, in partnership with @EnabelinUganda and @RwenzoriAcademy.

My internship at @EinsteinRising was an enriching and eye-opening experience. From the very first weeks, I had the opportunity to engage directly with entrepreneurs while preparing for Kampala Impact Day, visiting communities, documenting innovative businesses, and learning firsthand how local solutions are transforming lives.

One project that deeply touched me was @Skills4ChangeUG, which equips young women from vulnerable communities with tailoring and entrepreneurship skills to help them build sustainable livelihoods. I strongly believe that with more funding and partnerships, this initiative has the potential to impact even more young girls throughout the year.

What makes Einstein Rising special is its #inclusive and impact-driven approach, where people from different backgrounds are empowered and supported. Beyond the projects, one of my biggest takeaways from Uganda is the incredible hospitality and unity among the people, something I hope to continue advocating for when I return to Belgium.

Commencing with 𝐈𝐓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐩��𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, women entrepreneurs in Eastern Uganda are strengthening their capacity with practical digital skills for sustainable business growth.

Through hands-on learning led by @ConsultsCode, participants are exploring effective utilization of Google Workspace tools for business operations, including Google Drive for secure file management and sharing, Google Docs for collaboration, Google Sheets for record keeping and financial tracking, and digital communication platforms for virtual engagement and productivity.

The training also emphasizes leveraging smartphones as accessible business tools, enabling entrepreneurs to manage documents, track finances, communicate with clients, create content, and run daily business operations conveniently from their phones.

The onboarding sessions in Iganga have been filled with energy, excitement, and a shared commitment to building sustainable and green women-led enterprises. We are excited to begin this journey of strengthening businesses through practical skills, market access, and growth opportunities.
