Good morning and have a productive day 🤍🤍
Exercising your rights as a citizen is not a crime. During Nigeria’s military era, citizens protested, campaigned, and risked their lives to demand democracy and good governance. Their sacrifices helped pave the way for the freedoms we enjoy today. Mr Rilwan Olawale did nothing wrong by exercising his civic rights, and he deserves to be free!
DEVELOPMENTS SHOULD BE A SCORECARD 📌
Imagine if Nigerian politicians are appraised based on the lives they improve, not the godfathers they serve.
China offers serious lessons worth studying.
Since its economic reforms began in 1978, nearly 800 million people have been lifted out of extreme poverty, according to the World Bank.
China has built over 50,000 kilometres of high-speed rail, transformed Shenzhen from a small town into a global technology and manufacturing hub, and become a world leader in electric vehicles, batteries, solar energy and industrial production.
In 2024 alone, China added about 277GW of solar capacity and 79GW of wind capacity. Electric vehicles accounted for nearly half of new car sales. These achievements came through decades of investment, industrial planning, infrastructure development and policy execution.
China’s governance model also offers an important lesson ✍️:
the performance of public officials can influence their promotion.
Xi Jinping’s rise from working in rural China to the country’s top leadership is worth studying, alongside the emphasis on party discipline and anti-corruption campaigns. The system is far from perfect, and political loyalty still plays a major role.
But look at Nigeria🇳🇬.
We have spent decades talking about economic diversification while remaining heavily dependent on oil revenue.
We announce industrialisation plans but struggle to provide reliable electricity for businesses.
We allocate billions to infrastructure, yet poor project execution, abandoned projects and weak accountability continue to drain public resources.
We promise jobs while millions of young Nigerians struggle to find decent work. Governments change, slogans change, budgets increase, but too many citizens see little improvement in their daily lives.
The problem is not that Nigeria lacks potential.
It is that our political system too often rewards loyalty, patronage and election-winning machinery more than competence, productivity and measurable results.
Political appointments frequently serve the purpose of rewarding allies rather than placing the most capable people where they can deliver. And when officials fail, consequences are often weak or selective.
Imagine if every state governor had to demonstrate....
✅️how many sustainable jobs were created
✅️how much electricity became available
✅️how many businesses grew
✅️how many children received quality education and
✅️how many people escaped poverty.
Imagine if ministers and agency heads were assessed against clear targets.
Public budgets were tracked transparently
Failed projects triggered independent investigations
And promotions depended on verified performance rather than political connections.
Nigeria does not need to copy China’s political system. It needs to learn the importance of long-term economic planning, policy consistency, competent institutions, industrial development and accountability for results—all within a democratic system that protects citizens’ rights and allows leaders to be questioned and removed.
A country cannot develop by announcing policies; it develops by implementing them.
Public office should not be a reward for political loyalty. It should be a responsibility, with measurable targets and reallll consequences for failure.
Nigeria has the people, resources and market to become a productive economy.
What we urgently need is a political system that rewards those who build that future, not those who are simply good at retaining power.
Peace
Say this to yourself:
My week is blessed and favored. The grace of the Lord shall abide with me.
My week shall be productive and progressive.
The Lord shall go before me and make my straight. Amen 🙏
Have you all a beautiful week my Lovelies 🌹 🌹.
I love you ❤️❤️❤️
WITHOUT COMPASSION LEADERSHIP IS WORTHLESS
The French president may have his flaws, but he understood compassion by cancelling his trip to Nigeria to resolve his National issues.
But the reverse is the case here in Nigeria, the current president jets out amidst heavier crises
@dayoisrael Do brand new prados add to the well-being of the people you campaigning to?
Such a waste of resources.
Every opportunity for expenditure is always an avenue to embezzle. Tuffia
@dayoisrael I made a video and they're not even trying to prove me wrong. These cars could have been ambulances or public transport buses but no, they'll stone the common man bread then drive SUVs and fly PJs.
God sees all.
