๐ซ Our new publication in @scisignal reveals insights into gastric cancer progression! Funded by @latrobe, Dr Shoukat Sterle & team found inhibiting DCLK1 reduces tumour growth and prevents cancer from reshaping its environment.
Congrats to the team!

I thank the co-leads for this work Dr Anne Huber, Dr Amr Allam @The__Sci, Prof Matthias Ernst @lab_ernst , all co-authors and people as well as funders and institutions (@ONJCRI, @latrobe) that have made this work possible! Lets keep up the good work!
In our new publication in @CellReports,
we established a series of compound mutant mice harbouring KRAS, PI3K and TP53 mutations and corresponding organoids to investigate the dependency on IL6/IL11/STAT3 signalling for each gastric cancer disease step. https://t.co/vzMOM2Nhrn
While all disease stages present with high STAT3 signalling, we discovered that TP53 mutations drive an IL11 to IL6 dependency switch in the transition from early to late-stage stomach carcinoma progression.
Mutant TP53 switches therapeutic vulnerability during gastric cancer progression within Interleukin-6 family cytokines https://t.co/aj7rxAdxgf #biorxiv_cancer
Prof Matthias Ernst, Dr Moritz Eissmann & team receive prestigious @CancerVic Grants-In Aid funding for research into pancreatic cancer. Congratulations @lab_ernst !
