How can anyone watch Martin Ødegaard against Ivory Coast and still say Arsenal should sell him?

He was at the heart of almost everything Norway did going forward. Every dangerous move seemed to pass through him. He dictated the tempo, found spaces, linked midfield to attack and kept creating openings. That's what elite creators do. They don't just rack up goals and assists, they control games.

People have become so obsessed with replacing players that they forget what they already have. Finding midfielders who can consistently control matches at the highest level isn't easy. If it was, every top club would have three of them.

Criticise him when he has poor games, that's fair. Every player deserves criticism when standards drop. But calling for Arsenal to sell one of the best chance creators and one of the team's biggest leaders after performances like this makes absolutely no sense.

Ødegaard keeps reminding people why he's Arsenal captain. Some just refuse to see it.
