That's why their comments in these situations are like, "We're unable to discuss private disciplinary matters, but our students' safety is our top priority, & we're following district policy..."

@hilarym99 My teachers mostly did. Sometimes they'd have us swap with a classmate and grade each other's based on answers they read out, but either way, most homework had incorrect answers identified and points taken off. You couldn't get everything wrong and have no idea.

@megha_lilly To my understanding, the roadblock is a Supreme Court ruling that effectively made it illegal for companies to use intelligence tests in hiring decisions. College degrees thus became an expensive, time-consuming workaround. Maybe if that ruling gets overturned...

@CoughsOnWombats While it's true that there's a literal distinction, imo a lot of the people who wish someone dead intend for the recipient to perceive (and fear) it as a direct threat; they're just smart enough not to SAY it as a direct threat. So it is a threat, just with plausible deniability.

@pensandpoison I had a creative writing professor who made us start off our feedback on each other's work with a basic summary of what the story was about. I thought it was busywork - until I saw the wildly different understandings people came away with of just a few pages. It was eye opening.

When it comes to sanctuary cities/states, though, suddenly states do have the right to call the shots after all. Funny, that.

@KingLouieJones I'm not one for cancel culture, but apparently this girl is an aspiring doctor. Obviously, she's not safe to be anywhere near patients. We need to be on alert for when she applies to med schools/obtains healthcare jobs and make every effort to get her banned.

@firebot221 @KaeleyT It's possible to believe that both are bad. The difference is that OF is a seedy website a person has to seek out, whereas this Sweeney ad is intended for mainstream channels. And the implications of posing with sports implements don't help, either.

@nickwallis This man is not some innocent victim who got caught in the middle. He feels entitled to invade spaces where women are undressed and vulnerable. He needs to accept that women don't want him there instead of whining that we don't know what we're talking about. No means no.
