The Blessed Virgin is doubtless the most blessed and holy woman to have ever existed and a model for Christians throughout all time. The woman who bore our Savior in her womb and nurtured Him into adulthood is due the highest respect one may pay to any creature. But none of that implies she is "all powerful" - to say so is rank idolatry, which would make sense, coming from an actual demon. Come on guys, you're better than this.

On the whole "You don't have to be a Christian to go to Heaven" thing, a number of points...

1. This has ALWAYS been Church teaching. Read Uber-Trad Garrigou-Lagrange if you don't believe me.

2. It's really important to reject the notion, however implicit, that religion is some sort of video game where the goal is to win rewards and avoid punishments.

IF Christianity is true, a number of things follow, namely:

i. This is relevant to you

ii. You should adopt its worldview and teachings simply because they are true

iii. You should want a relationship with Jesus Christ because He is your all-knowing all-good Creator and loves you

all of which are true and important irrespective of what you have to do to get to Heaven

IF Jesus is who He says He is, then OF COURSE you should follow Him and seek a relationship with Him irrespective of whether that benefits you, whether in this life or the next.

Conversely, if Jesus is NOT who he says He is, Heaven and Hell are irrelevant anyway.

3. Even from the narrow point of view of "What do I need to do to go to Heaven?" (which is a legitimate question, just not the most important question), there's no equivalency.

The Church says:
- if you believe in Jesus, belong to His Church, and obey the Ten Commandments, you WILL be saved
- if you don't, there's a CHANCE you CAN be saved

And we don't know what that chance is. Could be high. Could be low.

So, from the point of view of the narrow self-interest of someone who says "Well, I don't need to join the Church, because according to its teachings, I can be saved even if I don't"--you're still gambling with your eternal life! There's one path where salvation is CERTAIN, and another path where the best we can say is: there's a CHANCE. Paging Blaise Pascal.

And, from the point of view of Christians themselves, they are still perfectly justified in fearing for the eternal future of their friends and wishing for them to come to know Christ--even as they can hope and pray that, if they don't, they can still be saved. Possible to hold both ideas in the brain.
