@Mikehomeseller Saw him tour this album and also when he played Knebworth. I loved this at the time (Yo Mama and some of the guitar instrumental stuff particularly) but in my later years I am more drawn to his mid 70s output.
@Mikehomeseller Yes, Going for the One tour on three consecutive nights. Also three consecutive Christmas shows by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. All at the Glasgow Apollo
@Mikehomeseller The Relayer tour with Moraz was the first band I ever saw, then I saw three consecutive nights of the Going For The One tour with Wakeman (all at the sadly-missed Glasgow Apollo)
@primarily_prog I grew up in Glasgow listening to these guys. Saw them many times, including the legendary Apollo Christmas shows in 75. This album is wonderful - there was nothing else like this band
@ProgRockGrandad I was at the Glasgow Apollo show that is part of the visuals for this (there were three nights and I was at all three!). A life highlight.
@primarily_prog Was at the Glasgow Apollo show of that tour. The most astonishing opening of a show I’ve ever seen, with PG and the band weaving though the auditorium by torchlight to the incessant’Intruder’ beat. I was able to put my arms round PG’s shoulders as he passed
@primarily_prog@gazabacab Yep, with torch ‘guns’, so down the front you could see the lights flashing from high in the auditorium and hear the cheers, but you didn’t know what was happening - and all the while the relentless beat went on
@gazabacab@primarily_prog I was there too, down near the front and at the end of the row. This meant I got to pat PG on the back as he passed me on the way to the stage, working his way through the auditorium to the ‘Intruder’ beat. Possibly the best start to a show I have seen.
