I didn’t have a personal relationship with the keynote speaker at the recently concluded YFON Interactive Session & Dinner, Professor Femi Mimiko, MNI. @MrTomide helped reach out to him and sent the formal letter requesting that he serve as the keynote speaker. When I eventually met him personally to officially invite him, he said something that was deeply encouraging. He told me that before accepting the invitation, he had to conduct his own background check on my personality and the YFON platform. Thankfully, the feedback he received was very positive. That honestly gave me so much happiness. Knowing that someone of his calibre took the time to independently assess who I am and what YFON represents and comfortably associated himself with the platform meant a lot to me. After the event, he also described it as a very well-organised and well-put-together event.
Those words of commendation will live with me for a very long time. Sometimes, the greatest reward for the work you do is not money or recognition. It is hearing from someone you respect that you got it right.

Today, I received the President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who reaffirmed his commitment to developing what will become Nigeria’s biggest industrial and free trade zone at Olokola in Ondo State.

This landmark investment, scheduled to commence in the last quarter of 2026, will transform our state into a major industrial hub, creating thousands of jobs, attracting local and foreign investors, and unlocking immense economic opportunities for our people.

With our strategic coastal location, deep seaport advantage, abundant natural resources, and investor-friendly policies, Ondo State is ready for an industrial revolution. My administration has already constituted a technical committee and will provide all necessary support to ensure the successful implementation of this game-changing project.

Construction work on the Akure–Idanre Road Dualisation Project continues to advance at an impressive pace, with significant progress being recorded across various sections of the corridor.

Ongoing activities reflect the commitment of the Ondo State Government to delivering a modern road infrastructure that will improve traffic flow, enhance connectivity, and stimulate economic activities along the route.

Upon completion, the dualised road is expected to boost transportation efficiency, improve safety for road users, and further support the socio-economic development of Akure, Idanre, and adjoining communities.
