Huishoudelijke hulp dreigt geschrapt te worden uit WMO. Dit frustreert het langer thuis wonen van ouderen en mensen met een beperking, met alle consequenties van dien. Daarom oproep aan kabinet om alternatieven te zoeken voor het schrappen van hulp bij het huishouden uit de WMO.

Lately, life has been pretty hard.

I don’t think people realize how lonely chronic illness can be.

I’m not talking about being physically alone. I’m talking about the kind of loneliness that comes from living a life that almost no one around you truly understands.

I can tell people where it hurts.

I can explain my symptoms.

I can list every diagnosis I have.

But I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to explain what it actually feels like to wake up every morning wondering what kind of body I’m going to get that day.

I’m tired of saying “I’m okay.”

I’m tired of downplaying everything.

I’m exhausted from trying to put words to something that has to be lived to be understood.

Sometimes I wish I had one person I could sit across from who would just say, “I know exactly what you mean.”

Sometimes this loneliness feels heavier than the illness itself.
