I think there’s a possibility that the whole drama surrounding Balde was just staged to make him realize the seriousness of the situation. I could imagine that it’s meant to serve as an incentive and motivation for him to take the whole thing more seriously and train harder, but that the club doesn’t actually plan to sell him.

Balde is being put to the test: How will he react? Will he give up right away, or will he refuse to be sold and fight for his spot in the team?

Balde training with the group means nothing is decided yet. Casado and fort will definitely be sold which is why they don’t train with the group. But Balde has a chance still to convince Flick that he wants to compete for his spot. This is going to be some very exciting last few days of the transfer window. #Balde

Also umsonst will niemand was, Barça hat schon direkt Ende mai/Anfang Juni 100m als Einstiegsgebot vorgelegt. Jetzt muss man sagen, dass Transfers diesen Sommer wie Savinho, Diomande und Rogers diese Summe nicht unbedingt realistisch erscheinen lassen. Aber es hieß ja immer man seie durchaus bereit Marktwertgerecht entsprechend auch mehr zu zahlen (120-150m). Letztendlich kann Atletico sich natürlich auf die 500m berufen, aber das hilft ihnen mit der Situation trotzdem nicht weiter. So haben sie ihren besten und wertvollsten Spieler unzufrieden und beide Seiten leiden unter der Situation. Am Ende landet er dann bei Arsenal.

Post match thoughts:

A very convincing away win at Elche. 🔵🔴

Barça’s attack looked dynamic, fluid and played with real enthusiasm, while defensively we gave Elche very little.

And winning there shouldn’t be taken completely for granted ��� only six teams managed to win away at Elche last season.

Still, I wouldn’t overrate today’s performance either. Elche were poor and, unusually for a La Liga side facing Barça, stood high and actually tried to play attacking football.

That gave us spaces to exploit.

The real test will come against teams sitting in a deep low block, where Barça have to create those spaces themselves.

A few individual thoughts:

• Hopefully Gavi isn’t out for long

• Lamine still doesn’t look quite like himself. His form hasn’t been the same since the injury in spring — hopefully it’s just a matter of finding his rhythm again.

• Espart feels like another la masia gem

• And Raphinha? Deserved captain.

Very positive performance and an important three points.

But bigger tests are still to come.
