él / he / him — living/working on the lands of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present. I thank the dxʷdəwʔabš & honor their land.
@Jugal56H@dw_espanol@arodriguezllach@innograte Que no sea tu realidad no significa que no sea real. Tu comentario es muy revelador. Gente marginada: “¡Estamos sufriendo!” Tú: “Yo personalmente no estoy sufriendo, así que dejen de quejarse.” Que asco por favor.
Two Colorado cops violently arrested a 73-year-old woman who has dementia—then were caught on camera celebrating and laughing when they reviewed their horrific body-cam footage hours later at the police station https://t.co/BKf6nOh2M5
@mulld37 @waOSPI@WASenDemocrats@kpwashington Are you asking if I believe in basic universal human rights? Well... do ignorant twitter trolls need to brush up on the history of workers’ rights? Does a bear shit in the woods? Does governor Jay Inslee lie for a living? And there’s your answer.
@mulld37 @waOSPI@WASenDemocrats@kpwashington Teachers in Washington state are not “paid handsomely” (per indep. econ. studies that adjust for inflation). Their contract agreements were made BEFORE a deadly pandemic got deadlier, and any additions since then have been inconclusive and tentative. This is how labor works, pal.
@mulld37 @waOSPI@WASenDemocrats@kpwashington Get the word ‘science’ out of your mouth if you don’t know how it works. Can’t be throwing that shit around carelessly. Science doesn’t *prove* anything. That’s not why we have science, nor why we have the scientific method. 1/2
@colby_blanton @HighlineSchools@SuptEnfield Valid question / concern. Can we get an answer to this question, please? Publicly? Transparency builds trust!
@Insighteur@NikkitaOliver @SheenaMcF The “landowners” might be paying taxes to have access to the park. But those same taxes are creating a system which directly/indirectly causes homelessness. The privatization of land itself generates—and necessitates—poverty. Therefore “landowners” are to blame for homelessness.
@KurtSchemers You hate anarchists because they’ve always made the flaws of our failing govt (Repubs AND Dems) very visible. It makes you uncomfortable! If you don’t like the USA and all of its visible flaws, tHeN wHy DoN’t YoU LeAvE?! This is the USA we inherited, not the one we created. 👍
@fred_n7mhs@ItsYonder@DarcyMoritoni This specific video shows the bicyclist attacking the streamer and pretending to be the victim the whole time. Classic.
@jtblenker @NWlady28 @JJusseroKIRO7 @KIRO7Seattle @EssexKIRO7 Personal property explains the relationship between an object and the person to whom it belongs. Person/thing relationship. “Private property” explains the relationship between a person and *other people*. I.e., this is private property, which means STAY AWAY BCUZ YOU’RE NOT ME.
@jtblenker @NWlady28 @JJusseroKIRO7 @KIRO7Seattle @EssexKIRO7 (1) You do realize that we don’t have any guaranteed privacy in the USA, right? And (2) This is not me speaking “personal property” into existence, by the way. This is literally what personal property is. The concept of personal property is freely researchable on Wiki. 👍
@NWlady28 @JJusseroKIRO7 @KIRO7Seattle @EssexKIRO7 A Libertarian telling me what to do with my body?!?! It’s like you’re *trying* to show how little you understand about things. Pick a lane, neighbor.
@NWlady28 @JJusseroKIRO7 @KIRO7Seattle @EssexKIRO7 Wait, so you think phones and backpacks are considered private property?! 😂 They’re *personal* property, which exists. The concept of pRiVaTe pRoPeRtY only exists so some people can hoard their wealth while others can barely survive. It’s a relatively new concept & is a myth.
Bodies needed ASAP at the Hyatt, 721 Pine St. Occupying the street in front of main entrance to the hotel. The cops wanted a protest. This is now a protest. #seattleprotest#seattleprotests
Well, THIS is interesting. It seems @Hyatt is partnering with the city to shelter homeless folks from the smoke.
If only most businesses stepped up as community partners in this way...with crises multiplying, this is exactly what we need to see. #ShelteredInSeattle
@emerge211@Sadenochill But what exactly is the cop “securing the scene” from? Poverty? Oppression? Or even scarier...the COMMUNITY? We don’t need cops, we need services. When cops are involved in “crime scenes”, it isn’t because they’re preventing them; they’re usually causing and/or escalating them.
