@ABDanielleSmith I know you're trying, and I know you have to believe Mr. Carney has the same degree of integrity as you. But I think we will end up continuing to be disappointed in him........I hope I'm wrong.
The buildHER conference in Quebec City proved the future of homebuilding is in capable hands. The energy, leadership, and collaboration from this exceptional group of executive women showed exactly where our industry is heading: innovative and stronger than ever. Their commitment and vision are raising the bar for all of us.
@ShaneWenzel Such a great group of brilliant, hardworking, committed women. Proud of you all and the work you do to move our essential industry ever forward and make us all ever better.
I congratulate Prime Minister @MarkJCarney on his minority government election victory last night.
I also want to sincerely thank @PierrePoilievre for his powerful and principled advocacy against the last decade’s punitive taxation and anti-resource policies that have made our country weaker, more divided and overly-dependent on the United States.
Mr. Poilievre’s vision for a safer, more affordable, united and prosperous Canada drove the policy debate in this country for the last several years and has inspired millions to see the unique potential of our nation. While Liberals and New Democrats demeaned and demonized Albertans, our values and our industries for political gain, Mr. Poilievre made empowering Albertans and our energy sector a cornerstone of his campaign. His respect and admiration for Albertans could not have been clearer. He is and continues to be a true friend of Alberta.
As Premier, I invite the Prime Minister to immediately commence working with our government to reset the relationship between Ottawa and Alberta with meaningful action rather than hollow rhetoric. A large majority of Albertans are deeply frustrated that the same government that overtly attacked our provincial economy almost unabated for the past 10 years has been returned to government.
As Premier, I will not permit the status quo to continue. Albertans are proud Canadians that want this nation to be strong, prosperous, and united, but we will no longer tolerate having our industries threatened and our resources landlocked by Ottawa.
In the weeks and months ahead, Albertans will have an opportunity to discuss our province’s future, assess various options for strengthening and protecting our province against future hostile acts from Ottawa, and to ultimately choose a path forward.
As Premier, I will facilitate and lead this discussion and process with the sincere hope of securing a prosperous future for our province within a united Canada that respects our province’s constitutional rights, facilitates rather than blocks the development and export of our abundant resources, and treats us as a valued and respected partner within confederation.
Our government will be holding a special caucus meeting this Friday to discuss this matter further. I will have more to say after that meeting is concluded.
@Martyupnorth_2 Somehow, though I don't know how, this flip flop has been orchestrated by the Liberal Party who stand to lose so much with a Conservative win. My heart is aching for Canada. I truly hope Canadians can see the manipulation before us and vote for Pierre.
@tobi@ezralevant Exactly right. We will only receive as much as we allow. This logic applies across the board. It's time to enforce the rule of law and make crime scary to the perpetrators again.
Ever been in combat? Ever been shot at? I haven’t. Neither, until today, has President Trump.
But one thing that combat veterans tell me, over and over, is that combat reveals character. The experience of being under fire exposes who you are in fundamental ways. You don’t really know what that answer will be until the moment is upon you.
Well, we just had President Trump’s character revealed. Turns out he’s the kind of man who comes under fire, takes a hit, feels the blood. and stands back up… with his fist raised. That’s who he is.
That’s who he always was – and now we know it.
Happy Canada Day!
Today is another opportunity for all of us to come together to celebrate this beautiful country that we call home. From First Nations who have called this land home since before the founding of Canada, to those who have newly made this country their home, we have much to be grateful for. Today is a reminder that the strength of our nation relies on protecting our freedoms, beliefs and traditions as treasures to be guarded and achievements to be celebrated.
On the anniversary of confederation, we should also be proud to call ourselves Albertans. Alberta’s contributions have made Canada one of the most prosperous nations in the world, rich in natural resources and innovative spirit.
However you are celebrating, whether with family or friends, in town or among nature, I hope you take time to reflect on our good fortune and look forward to many more years of a glorious and free Canada.
@benshapiro But jeez couldn't they talk about something important. Well Trump anyway as it's clear Biden just isn't capable. It was kind of funny though.
@WeAreCanProud I'd like him to resign immediately. Maybe, just maybe, the damage to our country would be a smidge less until we can get Conservative common sense back in Parliament and make some positive change.
From a GTA family doctor: "all the tax changes have crushed doctors ability to save for and fund our retirements".
#Budget2024's tax increase is an attack on working Canadians who helped to build, heal, and grow our country:
-- Tradespeople
-- Doctors
-- Entrepreneurs
There has been tons of progress on our houses over the last month. We are moving on to finish in both homes. We also got to tour a finished version of the model 3242 will be. Some cool visualizations happened that day. #electrical#flooring#cabinets#tiles@mckeeairdrie@rvsed
