First CU change of the year!…think it turned out ok in the end. Been on a lot of commercial EICR’s this year, so was a nice change to get the installation kit out 👌
@malvernelectric 2 things that wind me up, estate agents and landlords. Had one last year asking for a price for doing 6 EICR’s on their rental properties…gave them a figure their response was “that’s more than a gas safety check” yes because i allow all day for each, not an hour 🙄
@WayneNorthEast I really don’t think that being NIC means anything these days…sad as it sounds, probably one of my proudest achievements of my working career so far was becoming an AC…then you see what other NIC contractors are installing and it’s a joke.
@nicholastjustin@1stChoiceElect1 Even though i snapped my first boddingtons driver today connecting a double socket…won’t go back to any other brand so get them bought 👌
Out of curiosity, what are you guys dating this incoming supply? Assuming it’s dead as local theatre has had a major revamp in the late 90’s and all 3 phase.
@pahsparks Interesting that you have mentioned about not joining multiple 951 clamps together, as i didn’t think it was allowed but i rang up the NIC and this is exactly what he recommended! I have ordered some 150mm Heavy Duty bonding clamps to accept the 70mm conductor so they should fit
Had a job dropped on me…bonding of the incoming gas.
What clamps are people using? Pipe is 450mm in diameter and being honest, i have never had to do one so big before…
@1stChoiceElect1@sparkypete_@ChrisRuddock2 Recently helped out on a rewire of a property rented out to students for the local uni…4 bedrooms over 3 floors, fire alarm panel system, fire doors, emergency lights…main contractor didn’t install AFDD’s as it “may” turn into a private rental…but currently it’s not!
@malvernelectric@CPFuseBox I really can’t fault them…sturdy, plenty of room etc.
Even the boxes are good…this one is currently being made into a “castle” by No.1 child 😂
@malvernelectric @MeggerUK @kewtechcorp Megger for me…what mft do you currently have? Only ask as if you have a kewtech, maybe stick to what you know..
@malvernelectric No chance! I might be wrong, but unless you are registered with your scheme to do 3rd party certification, you won’t be able to anyway….unless you want to put your name to the whole job….and i really wouldn’t do that.
