The role of gratitude/appreciation is important in the classroom for creating the student-to-student & student-to- teacher relationships! These relationships will allow students to feel included & safe within my classroom- the best environment to be in! ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ@tlanglie

Highlighting the importance of gratitude and appreciation in my classroom is a high priority of mine! We can help students practice these skills by having them write letters, doing acts of kindness, and even write thank you notes! ๐ #LearnLAP@tlanglie
๐Q.8: To be a SPED para, one needs to have a high school diploma or GED completion, but to be a Title 1 program para, one needs to have at least 2 years of college completed, an AA degree, or pass a formal assessment. Trainings are different, but worth it!#CCED421para@tlanglie
๐ Q.7: The main difference between SPED paras & Title 1 paras is that Title 1 paras focus on the overall academic needs of the student where SPED paras are working in behavior, SEL skills, & physical supports of the student + academics. #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.6: I have seen & suggest to share a daily schedule with your para! By doing this, the para will know exactly where their student is & when they are transitioning from place to place or subject to subject. Transitions can be hard & they might be needed! #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.5: I have learned that para support is very limited right now, meaning that oftentimes paras are shifted around during the day & donโt get to work with just one student in one classroom. Communication needs to be high to keep everyone in the loop! #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.4: Paras are hired by administrators, but since they work closely with classroom teachers in their classroom with their students, those teachers are viewed as their supervisors. Teachers & paras work together everyday for their learners. ๐ค #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.3: No para, but I have an interpreter in my current classroom & we talk about transitions, behaviors, & work time daily. We also talk with the district hearing/speech teacher once a month or when necessary to ensure we are meeting all accommodations! #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.2: To be a paraprofessional, one must have a high school diploma or GED, completion of 2 college years, an AA degree, &/or completion of a formal assessment. In addition, paras need to have knowledge of what influences students to learn. #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.1: While Student Teaching, my classroom does not have access to a para, but in past clinical placements I had paras that would help learners with transitions, completion of work, retell instructions, and needed breaks. We all worked together! ๐ค #CCED421para@tlanglie
๐Q.7: The way I would structure an ideal PLC would be to have a whole school PLC- each team sitting together. Each teacher would have 1 min. to share a highlight of the day, and then 4 min. to share their student of focus for that week, & share ideas! #ED421plc@tlanglie
๐Q.6: One con to PLCS in education is that often times teachers are burnt out by the end of the day, so with my PLC being after school, there is sometimes lack of teacher buy-ins. Teachers experience burn out! #ED421plc@tlanglie
๐Q.5: Something that surprised me about PLCS is how much goes into running an effective meeting. The amount of data, time, scheduling, and overall hard work that goes into these weekly meetings is something that shouldnโt go unnoticed! #ED421plc@tlanglie
๐Q.4: My PLCS have been so insightful! There are many ideas shared, all staff are able to hear what each classroom is like & then able to provide support through encouragement when needed. We focus on one student at a time, making it specific for that child!#ED421plc@tlanglie
๐ Q.3: Our PLCS are very inclusive & we have a timed agenda- meaning each teacher gets a certain amount of time to share/receive ideas. Because of this agenda, ALL staff have the opportunity to share & ALL staff receive the same opportunities for feedback.๐ค #ED421plc@tlanglie
๐ Q.2: PLCS at my school are administrator-led along with an instructional coach that determines the agenda. The meetings start off with an update/overview lead by an administrator, and then during โwork timeโ the agenda/time keeper is an instructional coach.#ED421plc@tlanglie
๐Q.1: What Iโve noticed about PLCS at my school is all staff are able to share a student of concern & receive feedback on how to help this student succeed in the classroom. Each week there is a theme, such as blurting, & teachers come with a student in mind.#ED421plc@tlanglie

I am looking forward to getting to know and creating a bond with my first grade students, learning and practicing techniques and strategies that I can use in my future classroom, and becoming confident within the education field. #cordmn
Confidence goes a long way in a studentโs academic journey. To boost confidence in a childโs work, as their teacher I need to give feedback that is sincere, relevant, & timely. This will increase my relationships with my class as well! ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ซ ๐#LeadLAP#CCED336@tlanglie
In an elementary setting, students value their teacherโs input and opinion on them as a student. A way to celebrate success is to first acknowledge it, congratulate them on a job well done, & then encourage them to continue with a great work ethic! ๐๐ป #LeadLAP#CCED336@tlanglie
