The BBC SSO is in Oban for a week of community activities, culminating with an uplifting concert at Corran Halls (Sat 26 Oct)
🎻 Experience the ethereal beauty of Vaughan Williams's 'The Lark Ascending' performed by the brilliant violinist @ElenaUrioste
.@jenisicecreams Hi, wondering who to chat to about requesting a refund: my order was delivered to an incorrect address, refused by recipient, and discarded. This was a delivery for a sensitive occasion and I would appreciate the chance either to get it right or to be refunded!

@GwilymMcGrew Oh my goodness that’s so unbelievably kind — that was a deeply special set of performances for me and I’m so touched you’ve remembered them. Bramwell Tovey was an absolute treasure. ♥️ @LAPhil@HollywoodBowl
It’s a wrap! A wonderful series of 5 Chineke! concerts with these two beauties - incredible soloists! Here we are after last one at Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg! Thank you @ElenaUrioste@RosieBergonzi@Chineke4Change https://t.co/WtwsSEVDWd
I’m not sure what protocol is at @HeathrowAirport but I just witnessed a security employee behaving truly heinously to a family who clearly didn’t speak English. 6:40am, T2, security lane 7. I filmed her for reference (my clip doesn’t show anything particularly egregious)…
@ElenaUrioste@PosterTom@through_t_noise Four days later and I've - just about - got rid of 'B*** N**********' as an earworm. I hope.
And I've had to order the Jukebox so I can get 'Bha là eile ann' (however you pronounce it).
If it hasn't been already @bbcproms ought to book you both for a jukebox. Imagine the noise!
@BrenMcgowan@ElenaUrioste@PosterTom Agree completely about it not feeling like a concert. We went to this gig (?) at @SaffronHallSW and it was just so much fun. Came away just buzzing with the happiness and community that music can make.
This didn't feel like a concert, but like being round your very talented mates who play what you want.
And, yes, you got to vote on it. (I'd like to see how that went at Wigmore Hall.)
And I'm just stunned by @PosterTom 's virtuosity here.

A #noisenight isn't a conventional concert - it's normally standing around in a bar.
This was in a club, so - for those of a certain age - it was Wheeltappers and Shunters meets Wigmore Hall.
(And that's a compliment from me!)
And more great music.

The last time I heard 'La Vie En Rose' live was Frederica von Stade's farewell tour.
Last night @ElenaUrioste and @PosterTom worked similar magic at @through_t_noise#noisenight
We had Prokofiev, Cecile Chaminard and a gorgeous piece from Donald Grant.
A perfect evening.

We’ve been really touched by the responses to the first disc in our ‘Brahms and Contemporaries’ series on @ChandosRecords, and hope you enjoy this video giving a taste of both pieces - the lyrical beauty of Luise Adolpha Le Beau + the fiery coda of Brahms’ 2nd piano quartet!
There’s little that isn’t made better by playing Mozart with @ElenaUrioste in the perfect cocoon of @wigmore_hall. I have always said that no composer brings me more happiness than Mozart, and I think that will be true my whole life.
Anyone at a loose end, join us at 7.30pm!
