Some misconceptions about immigration
The post 2020 migration spike wasn’t random, it was government engineered. Care visas expanded, BN(O) opened, Ukraine schemes launched, and universities were pushed to recruit internationally. People followed the rules the government wrote.
Well, we exhibited because we ship to UK a lot so why not honor our clients and come to them directly. We had a vision, it was a very expensive venture but a good run ! We thank God & the exhibition is over now, but we’re still taking orders & delivering within UK 💜🙏🏽.

This is your weekly reminder to punch above your weight. Don’t only settle for the things you think you’re qualified for because it feels safe.
Seek discomfort. Ask for more. Set goals that scare you. Would it be uncomfortable? Yes. Would it be worth it? Also yes.
It’s hard to know if it’s worth it, ex-ante. I was reluctant to leave, myself. Late 2021, I had just paid down for my first plot of land. Got a handsome bonus, and was promoted a few months into 2022. 40M would have made me defer plans for sure.
But knowing what I know now, if I were in Nigeria, even with 100M, I’ll still leave. It has nothing to do with the school I attended here or the fact that I can make that amount now more easily. Those are probably perspectively contributory, but not dispositive.
I did not know how badly I needed to be in a place where I could feel freer, until I left. It’s very hard to make an accurate analysis of its pros and cons when you’ve not experienced the other side of things, unless you’re pretty well-travelled. Beyond the money and professional benefits I have gotten, the simplicity and order significantly improved my life. Personally, I don’t care about a lot of things the way many people do—I’m constantly drained and just want to be on my path as freely as humanly possible. But in Nigeria, it’s hard not to. I don’t feel the need to constantly optimize for the optics of being among any particular ‘class’.
I walk into small book or coffee shops and just sit with people with no sense of an underlying judgment or assessment of status. I always hated those petty contrivances but it was not until I left that I knew how much I wanted out of that society. There are many simple things that have improved my wellbeing and I cannot begin to express my gratitude.
That’s not to say, of course, that if anyone leaves, they are certain to reach this conclusion. In my case, I’m probably luckier and more well-adjusted than many. But the point is that you may be surprised at the person you’ll become when you change your environment and how much you’d love it.
I just think Nigeria is not for everyone. There’s a category of persons it punishes and I’m in that category. It is stressful for everyone but particularly so for people who those who are high-trust, quite intellectual, and low in tolerance for (or triggered by) a certain level of unruliness, crassness and politicking. The uncertainty and overall knowledge of how unlikely things are to change, just frustrates me. Would take a ton of money to trade the little affordances I’ve found here for anything else.
You spend a lot of time on twitter, you might as well use that time to search for a job.
Follow these steps.
1. Bookmark this tweet - so you can always come back to it.
2. Directly click on => https://t.co/aonq7TzZTk : it’ll take you straight to the job search page in app.
3. Search for the roles you want, if your want remote roles, try and look for roles that are remote only without a location. “Remote” and “Remote, US” are different.
4. Apply and good luck.
Tips: Search for assistant roles, admin roles, lab roles, this is not just for tech roles. It’s for everyone.
Lastly, be sure to share this so that others can benefit too. Even if you don’t get a job, your friends might. So a little win win there 👌👌
[Update] At the moment: this only works on IOS and The Web. If you’re using android, try switching to the web.
Dear working class man with working class partners
A two income household is a powerful one that allows the unit to own more, they usually go further if they both have their head screwed on right. I get all these negativity you see on twitter, some are valid and some are laughable.
You should want your partner to earn more and contribute to the running of the unit, its only natural. whether its 50:50, 80:20, 70:30, its left you as the unit to decide.
My big brother, my friend, my sponsor, my role model. You gave me more than I could ever give back.
Rest in peace Mr Herbert Wigwe, Aunty Chizoba and my little bro Chizi.
This is my ode to you. My Oracle: https://t.co/NFeyg68G1d

#HOW
Losing a parent at a young age sucks because you always wonder what your relationship would be like at this point in your life, or how proud they would be, or sometimes you try to remember the sound of their voice.
You can’t be richer than the country you live in. You could have all the money but if your environment doesn’t improve, you are poor.
Nigeria is a country rich in potential but full of people who are poor in mindset.
You've gotta get comfortable with being seen as a bad person because people will really be mad at you for not letting them run you ragged "how dare you not allow me to do this thing which benefits me, at great expense to you?! I thought you were a good person???"
What's happening folks, I'm chuffed to be hosting the #NoCodeTechSummit, with superstar @THEAWAZI.
It's going to be a fantastic time, so get your tickets as soon as possible 😎
