That "struggling" is you working towards what you envisioned for yourself. If you are more focused on other people than you are on achieving your goals, that is as good as not having a VISION in the first place.
Don't be afraid to start over, it could be what you need to do to get you to where you want to be.
Starting over doesn't mean you're a failure. It simply means you are using a different approach to get you to where you envision yourself to be.
You only fail when you give up.
If you had given up every time you encountered a challenge in the past, you will not be where you are today.
Why should another temporary setback make you feel like you cannot overcome it?
As the year-end is approaching, most of us will be setting goals for 2022. Let's work on bringing clarity to those goals and develop an action plan that actually works.
REMEMBER, a goal remains a dream until you take action on it, but it doesn't end with just taking action.
Nobody can see your vision better than you do and you've got to believe in it first before anyone else does.
You cannot be who you desire to be if you keep waiting for approval from people.
You cannot do what you desire to do if you keep waiting for approval from people.
Leadership has more to do with who you are than what you do.
Don't be defined by a title. You don't have to be at the top of the Hierarchy to be a great Leader. You can start leading from where you are.
You are a BRAND.
You can't be average and expect to produce excellent work by default. You've got to associate excellence with your brand for you to execute excellence.
Wanting a promotion is not enough.
Serving your organisation for many years does not automatically qualify you for a promotion.
What are you doing to prepare for it?
Are those conversations Building you or Breaking you?
Are they Inspiring you or Limiting you?
Do they focus on Positivity or Negativity?
Are they Worth having or Not?
Sometimes what's holding you back could be the conversations you are entertaining.
Are you going to work because you find purpose in it or are you working merely to get a salary because you have no other choice?
Motivation has an influence on your performance at work and if it is not maintained, it could result in you becoming disengaged from your work.
The focus should not only be on how much you are getting paid by your Employer. What value do you bring to your Organisation?
What difference are you making?
Are those communication, leadership skills etc... really excellent? Are you really a team player and do you really work well under pressure?
A decorated CV can get you the job but are you really the most suitable candidate for the position?
You don't always have to have an excuse, blame someone or a situation for a mistake. That creates defensiveness and when you are defensive you will miss the opportunity to introspect and become aware of the problem so that you can work on it.
It doesn't matter where you are now as a result of past or present circumstances. What matters is the Direction in which you are headed.
You can still make that change today!
This week was one of those weeks where I had to constantly remind myself of the reason why I started and that my vision is greater than the present circumstances.
