Great couple of days by the river, but even on a sunny day we need to bring our own lights to explore the dark and dingy corners of our clients assets - because that's where the important bits always are!
We're working with the @RNZSPCA National Rescue Unit while they investigate adding drones to their already impressive skill-set. Last weeks cliff rescue exercise was interrupted by a call-out for an injured swan - a great way to demonstrate our recon capability in a tricky area.
Drones at an airport?!
We're excited to be joining @BecaGroup to talk about our recent asset inspections for @WLGAirport at the NZ Airports Association Conference later this month.
Stay tuned for more details! https://t.co/Ynoir6ft35
We're excited to be showcasing our services (and our toys!) at #IPWEANZ19 with the team from @IPWEANZ. Best of all were giving away an awesome Tello drone in our business card draw!
@ClearVision_Sec @GazTheJourno OK, so my rough calculations might not have been perfect, but here's some real world testing to show what I'm talking about. Measure out 160m (the horizontal component of the 200m test) on an airport the size of Gatwick to get a feel for the distances involved.
Why didn't any of the ground staff get photos of the #gatwickdrones or #HeathrowDrone? Probably because smartphones just aren't up to the task. See our test below then factor in UK winter sunlight, weather, and fast moving targets. 200m is nothing at a major airport.
@ClearVision_Sec @GazTheJourno With a typical 12MP / 70° FOV phone camera, a 10cm tall drone would need to be less than 200m away to show up as more than just one pixel. If you want to have enough pixels to focus, you'd probably need to be about 50m away.
Our Landcruiser has made it to NZ, so today we cruised out to Martinborough to do some testing while we wait for our Kiwi drone licence to get finalised.
@DrJJoyner They would probably pull out of the Imperial System if they weren't the only ones using it... "It is grossly unfair that the USA only gets one inch for every two and a half centimeters that our foreign trading partners receive"
We're looking forward to showing off some of our drone dust monitoring and water sampling technology, tomorrow night at the @CORE_Innovation Startup Exchange. https://t.co/bIxqf7ll1E
We're excited to be part of the #WestTechFest program with our Startup Exchange. Held in partnership with @Unearthed_S we'll be showcasing resources tech from local and international startups.
