Four years ago when Trump was president, the Black unemployment rate was 11.9 percent. Now it’s 5.7 percent. The lowest Black unemployment rate in history (4.8%) happened just last year. #jobsreport

Last night during the Presidential Debate Vice President Kamala Harris dominated the former President on policy, presence, and the vision for our nation.

Great job Vice President Harris.

@TheWeekendMSNBC @JBPritzker 6 balanced budgets, 9 credit ratings upgrades, historic investments in education, protected reproductive freedoms, supported an assault weapons ban, raised the minimum wage, fought for paid leave for workers and not done yet…@JBPritzker would be a great choice.

As I watched this very painful exchange my heart ached for Sonya's family, friends, & the entire Springfield community, particularly its Black residents who simply want to be treated fairly and equitably. No person should ever have to fear that calling for help will end in death.

[Elgie Sims @ElgieSims]

We have taken steps to increase transparency, require body cameras to be worn and ensure dangerous individuals remain detained – all steps which have swiftly led us toward the first steps of justice for Sonya Massey.

[Elgie Sims @ElgieSims]

I stand with Sonya Massey’s family, friends and the entire Springfield community as they mourn this tremendous loss and call for justice.

[Elgie Sims @ElgieSims]

Nothing we do will bring Ms. Massey back, but we must take steps to find justice for her and her family. We must hold the former officer accountable as we push for answers to find out why he was hired in the first place, so it doesn’t happen again.

[Elgie Sims @ElgieSims]

I am angry, frustrated, disgusted and disheartened that another innocent Black life was taken unjustly.

[Sims for Illinois @ElgieforIL]

Thank you President Biden for your leadership and service.

The work to inform voters about the contrast between what Democrats stand for versus the radical agenda of the former President and his allies continues.

While some are being distracted, the pro-45 forces are preparing for a full-scale power grab. The rhetoric about bloody revolution is dangerous and cannot stand. Violence has no place in our public discourse and electoral politics. #StandwithBiden https://t.co/diSEGW9yqb
