I've decided that I make a lousy businessman. 🙄
I feel guilty or bad for promoting my products or for even suggesting that you can 'buy me a coffee' if you'd like to support me.
I've made my blog available to everyone, not just donators or Members, because I don't want anyone excluded from seeing all my photos! I know a lot of people can't afford to support me in a financial way, it just doesn't seem fair to me to hide some of my work from those people.
Starting my little business has really helped to give me something else to focus on, so improving my mental health, which has fluctuated a lot in the past, mostly in a downward direction.
However, the cold hard facts of having a small business are that you have to earn money! They come with regular monthly bills and expenses that need to be covered before you even start to make any profit.
So I'm always having this contradictory 2 way thought process... one way I'm thinking how can I maximise income, then the other way I'm questioning myself and feeling guilty for even posting about my shop or Ko-fi account.
As I said, these feelings do not a good businessman make! 😅 It just doesn't come naturally to me!
So when you see me post about my little business or about supporting me, please bare in mind the internal struggle I have with it, but understand it's a necessity for my business to survive, which I really want it to obviously! 🙏
Everything is a choice for everyone, I'm mindful of not being too pushy with it.... finding the right balance is extremely difficult!
I'm confident in one thing, that I post my own photos regularly here on Twitter, for everyone to enjoy, every single day, for the last 9 years, and that's my real joy... sharing my love of birds with you all. That's what I do best.🐦 💕
