A new poll found that 83% of French adults support deporting unemployed, criminal, or otherwise delinquent foreign nationals under a policy described as "negative immigration."

Support was highest among 18–24-year-olds (90%), followed by those 65 and older (87%), and majorities backed the policy across the political spectrum, including 66% of France Unbowed (LFI) voters, 68% of Green voters, 75% of Socialist voters, and 81% of Macron supporters.

The poll comes as the European Parliament has approved rules allowing EU member states to establish deportation centers in non-EU countries, although Macron has said France will not use them.
