Sustainable tourism starts with conservation 🌍. By protecting ecosystems and embracing regenerative agriculture, we can restore the land while creating meaningful travel experiences. Let’s explore innovative pathways that enhance environmental resilience and support communities
If match officials can’t see that teammates are donning different kits, can we expect the same officials to see the trickiest fouls and make decisions?
Maybe not! A case of Buhimba Vs Police FC…

Never thought I’d say this, but I’m a bit tired of traveling. 🫣
Spent 32 days on the road so far this year.
On that note: Good evening from Fort Portal. 👋
A Ugandan engineer friend has made a pump from galvanised iron. This is the sample
It operates on gravity & fluctuating pressure
She is looking for an incubation space to help her grow the innovation in terms of mass production & business development
Thanks for the assistance
I was talking to a former employee of East African airways, he said Kenya retained most of the planes then Nyerere tricked them and said, they wanted the airline to continue.
He waited until they had to planes in Dar and he announced it was over, just like that, they retained 2 planes.
I want to give background information on the defunct East African Airways (EAA) which was founded on 1 January 1946 as a joint corporation of Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania. It operated for 31 years until collapsing in 1977 and was once one of Africa’s most ambitious multinational airlines.
Primary hub: Embakasi Airport (now Jomo Kenyatta International Airport)
Secondary hubs: Dar es Salaam & Entebbe.
It symbolized East African regional cooperation under the East African Community.
Fleet at its mid-1970s peak: 16 aircraft, including:
• 4 × Vickers Super VC10 (long-haul)
• 3 × McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30
• 4 × Fokker F27 Friendship
• 5 × Douglas DC-3
Route network spanned Africa, Europe, Middle East & Asia flying to London, Rome, Frankfurt, Athens, Karachi, Bombay (Mumbai), Cairo, Lusaka, Seychelles & more.
By 1975, EAA employed approx. 4,700 staff pilots, engineers, cabin crew & ground staff. Africanisation programs trained local professionals, reducing reliance on expatriates.
Maintenance & Training: Operated major technical bases in Nairobi; heavy maintenance done in house. International partners like Aer Lingus assisted in management & technical training during restructuring phases.
Fully state owned jointly held by Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania through the East African Community framework. Mounting debt (~$120M), political tensions & breakup of the Community led to its collapse in 1977.
After dissolution, its assets seeded Kenya Airways, Air Tanzania & Uganda Airlines.
It was a bold Pan African aviation dream that connected continents for three decades.
I believe that this model can be achieved for all of EAC member countries with effective and efficient framework and with effective cargo transport systems.
Let’s discuss !!!!
