Starting your own business means showing up, every day, to something on your to do list you’ve never done before and have no idea how to do.
Then figuring out how to do it.
In light of recently receiving a First Class Hons, BPS accredited degree in Psychology (with 2x outstanding academic achievement awards), my psychology and mental health blog posts gig is officially open for business!🧠#psychologywriter#freelancewriter https://t.co/K8YwqUX6va
Things have been more than tough recently. As an online freelancer, it can feel like all you see are 6-fig success stories and highlight reels. But sometimes, especially in those early years - it’s just freakin hard and you feel like giving up. Don’t. #freelancing#freelance
Just keep doing. Keep making mistakes and learning. Publish the blog post, start the newsletter, launch the website, write the tweet. Take comfort in knowing that you’re never the only one struggling, and that all those people you look up to have likely been here too.
Thinking of taking a social media break aside from on my business accounts. My brain feels very ✨full✨ of late😅. A month of working hard on myself/building business sounds so good😍
8. Seek professional help if things are too much. This thread might be useful if you're feeling a bit down and demotivated. As someone who battled mental health issues for many years, these strategies did help - but only as a compliment to professional, pharmacological support.
7. Dress to make yourself feel good👖. This doesn't have to be anything drastic, but it's surprising what forgoing the joggers and dirty hoodie can do for your motivation.
