@SecDuffyNASA Safety does not impede progress. Safety identities issues. Then engineering tries to resolve the problem by analyzing the issue for years instead of replacing parts. Then the Programs’ approval and risk acceptance processes can easily add another 6 months to that.

Typically when safety identifies an issue with a commercial partner’s system, the partner will replace the part within a weeks-time.
