Why do we, Iranians, resent the Palestinian cause and its supporters?

Palestinian militant groups helped the 1979 revolution bring the Islamic Republic to power. For decades, the regime has funded Hamas and Palestinian terrorism while Iranians suffer poverty and oppression. Its support for terrorism and threats against Israel have brought war, isolation and suffering upon Iran.

Iran has paid the price for the Islamic Republic’s support of Palestinian terrorism for far too long.

Yesterday I spoke at the NZ Against Hamas counterprotest in Auckland against the Global March for Palestine, which of course was timed to be on the weekend of the third anniversary of October 7. There were other protests and counterprotests around the country. Here is my speech.
There are also some clips of the day in the thread.
A cross-section of Kiwis was there with us, but the formidable members of the Iranian community were a standout.
The police kept a watchful eye and the interactions and provocations at us were limited but you see some in the second clip. The guy being taken off by police was shown on TV1 last night in a brawl.
I am very grateful though that we can still hold two competing protests like this in NZ without major incident. Long may it last.
