تنها زنی که به طور جدی و رسمی در زندگی لیندسی حضور داشته، دختری به اسم «سیلویا» (Sylvia) بود. آن‌ها در دوران جوانی لیندسی و زمانی که او دانشجوی حقوق بود، رابطه عاشقانه و جدی داشتند. اما لیندسی در آن زمان زیر بار فشار خردکننده تامین هزینه‌های زندگی خواهرش، شیفت‌های ارتش و درس خواندن بود. همین مشغله‌های سنگین باعث شد این رابطه کم‌کم کمرنگ شود و هرگز به ازدواج ختم نشود.
