Hugely proud to be elected as the one of two Conservative councillors for Hyde Park ward in @CityWestminster
Years of hard work have paid off, and it will be a privilege to serve the residents of the greatest part of London, the area that I call home, over the next 4 years
Three years ago on October 7, the world changed for Jews across the world when we saw a massacre in Israel carried out by terrorists. On October 8, the world changed for me. Just a day after those horrific attacks we saw just how many people still hold abhorrent views and turn a blind eye to Islamist extremism.
Three years on, the Conservative Party must be clear: We stand with British Jews. We will confront antisemitism and we have the moral clarity to know who our allies are - and Israel is one of them.
Exclusive:
Kemi Badenoch will publish a 30,000-word booklet summing up the principles of her new Tory Party at conference.
It is 95 pages long and inspired by ‘The Right Approach’, a 1976 pamphlet by Keith Joseph which laid out the tenets of what became Thatcherism.
The Sunday Times has been handed a copy. It is the clearest distillation to date of what the Badenoch project stands.
‘The Right Way’, as it’s been titled, reveals her values and underlying approach in six broad areas
- Economy
- Energy
- Government
- Country
- Defence
- Borders
Just don’t called it ‘Badenochism’. The leader has her own word for it: “Kemistry.”
I suspect we’ll referring back to this foundational document for a long while to come…

Indeed, and take a look at how brilliantly governed Britain is. How rich and prosperous we are, how effective and efficient public services are, how affordable the cost of living is. Thank god we didn't listen to Snowdon and decided to take another path, eh! The benefits of not listening to him are really all around us
📜 Chag Sameach to everyone in Westminster marking Sh'mini Atzeret tonight and Simchat Torah tomorrow night. Three years on, many will dance and remember at once. We hold both with you. #SimchatTorah
Over the summer, Henry Nowak's final moments were broadcast around the world. He was just eighteen, and when the police reached him on a street in Southampton he would have believed that help had come. He told them he had been stabbed and could not breathe, and they handcuffed and arrested him.
I met Henry's family in June, and that meeting has stayed with me ever since. There is still much more to be said about how the police failed Henry, and about how they went on failing his family and loved ones right up until the conviction.
The day after we met, I wrote to the then Prime Minister, Keir Starmer asking for an independent, rapid review of the police response, the decisions that followed, and the role of the police watchdog. I didn't publish that letter at the time, because I hoped the Government would do the right thing and I wanted to work with them quietly to make that happen. Downing Street's answer was to wait for the existing processes to run their course.
Since then, Keir Starmer has gone and Andy Burnham has taken his place, yet still there is no review. There was little mention of victims in the PM’s speech earlier this week. Henry's family have waited long enough, so today I'm publishing my letter. Andy Burnham should order the review now, and I stand ready to work with him to set it up, as I offered in June.
I haven't forgotten Henry, and I won't let this Government forget him either.
Labour don’t like our budget engagement or the (*record breaking*) responses received from residents. Stands to reason - not a single member of their front bench team bothered to turn up to workshops Cllr Keck and I held with residents. Labour don’t Listen.
Labour attacking us for running a programme of events to engage with residents over the significant cuts to our budgets imposed by their government.
If their councillors had actually bothered to turn up to these events they would have seen how valuable and worthwhile they were.
Perhaps they had better things to do than engage with residents.
Labour MPs voted for the settlement that takes £100m from Westminster. Then Labour councillors came to Full Council to complain about the consequences. Cllr Elliot Keck asked the only question that matters: do you believe your residents can afford it? #WestminsterMatters
It would be great if Westminster Labour could write just a single letter - opposing the government's unprecedented cuts to the council that their residents rely on.
Or do Labour councillors and MPs for Westminster really have such little influence with Number 10?
...that is a lot of letters📩
But not one of them has changed, or will change, anything for Westminster residents.
The Westminster Conservatives have been elected to do things, not simply to shift blame and write about them.
Nearly 10,000 residents have had their say on Westminster's Budget Choices so far. With £100m being taken from Westminster by the Labour government, difficult decisions are coming. Tell us your priorities before 5pm on 30 September: https://t.co/UUs0rFwkyU #WestminsterMatters #Westminster
Why can’t Andy Burnham do “everything possible” to bring down the cost of welfare, or do “everything possible” to fund defence properly?
Why is giving away this territory such a priority for Labour that they are willing to give away billions to do so when there’s little money for anything else?
Labour are punishing low-tax councils with massive funding cuts.
So if you've voted for low taxes, Burnham and Rayner will force your council to put taxes up anyway.
For all his talk about local democracy, Burnham only cares about your vote if you vote for higher taxes.
Under the Conservatives, Britain will be open for business.
We’ll bring back tax-free shopping for overseas visitors, bringing billions in extra spending to British high streets and supporting the shops, hotels and jobs that depend on them.
