@NashSevereWx Thank you guys for all your work. Any idea of what time the rain will likely stop Sunday AM? Hosting our annual Easter sunrise service at sevier park in 12S at 610. Looks like ground will be soaked, but you think still coming down then too?
@lukedsimmons@MarkAntiBabylon@dougponder Certainly not wanting to start gossip or slander, but could you say more about this? I was intrigued by this new book. I respect you and he from afar.
Before my father passed, we began working together on 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑊𝑒 𝐿𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝐵𝑦-a project exploring the seven cultural narratives that shape how we think about identity, freedom, and meaning. Finishing it has been both meaningful and challenging. We wrote it for people asking whether the stories our culture tells us actually work, and how the Christian story enters and completes them. It comes out later this year. -Michael Keller https://t.co/Fj4VYq9Bz1

@SheaSerrano Also I am a pastor… And I have used the final scene more times than I can count in giving talks. I don’t think any movie scene has ever captured the beauty of “I will stop at nothing till I have you back” Love more than that scene. Sacrifice & substitution = Creasy = Jesus.
@SheaSerrano I have seen this move 40+ times. Been way too long since I’ve seen it though. This essay is amazing and I cried and laughed while reading it. have to go rewatch it & considering how young is too young to show it to my son.
Thank you for the gift of sharing your gift of writing
@JeremyTate41 Also John Candy (Gus Polinski, “polka king of the Midwest”)is like Someone who has come to take us Home….especially when all seemed hopeless.
If Advent is the beginning of the reconciliation of all things - Gus reminds us that all will be well in the world.
"Gratitude is the great secret of the mystics, the solution to all problems. Remembering these things, not just on Thanksgiving but every day, is the way home." ~@ANNELAMOTT
