Matthew McConaughey says his son begged to audition for his movie, so before the tape went out he had the name McConaughey deleted from it
“I say, ‘Hey, this is my son, Levi, reading for the part. I think this might be good enough for a callback, let me know what you think.’ She writes back, ‘I think it’s good enough to send the director. I go, ooh, okay. Hang on a second. If you do that, can you pull his last name?”
“What if he gets it, is he going to have a little inkling that, oh, my last name helped me get in there? Don’t want that to happen. What if he doesn’t get it? Does he have an inkling like, well, could I have got that on my own? Maybe did my last name keep me out of it?”
“So we pull his last name, send it to Paul. He looks at it, he goes, ‘That’s the kid.’ She goes, ‘Well, that’s actually Matthew’s son.’ He goes, ‘Even better.’”
To all my brothers that the LORD has assigned to the very hard places. Stay strong. Your worth is not found in a social media post of a packed worship center on Easter. Your worth is found in the cross and your calling. Only eternity will reveal the true fruit of your labor.
I hear it all the time. "Small churches matter, small church pastors are important, small churches are different etc" why are we so insistent on defining a church by its size? You are not a small church. You are a 90% of all churches kind of church. Thx to my bros @NAB_Podcast
