2am kick off, the Azteca, Bellingham and Kane, 10 men, Burn heading a million crosses away, Wonderwall, Kane’s interview, Henderson breaking his arm in the celebrations.
In twenty years, we’re probably looking back on this as the most iconic England match ever.
Tottenham mapped out a pathway for every competitor to follow that doesn’t benefit from sports washing or being funded by a nation state. No self sponsoring cheating or dodgy finances. Yet for some reason we are the ones everyone has a problem with. No mention of Chelsea or city?
How do people still not understand the basics of this Spurs/Villa & Newcastle argument. So infuriating how silly it is. We generate 10s, 100s of millions more a year than Villa and Newcastle.
Because for years we had the lowest wages to revenue % in the league. Built the best facilities in Europe. Our stadium now prints money.
‘There’s no consequences for them’ - how about when we went three transfer windows not spending a single penny because of the investment in the facilities/stadium, watching the best team of my lifetime fall apart directly because of that lack of investment? That sounds like a pretty devastating consequence to me.
And now we’re reaping the rewards (being able to spend big money after b2b 17th place finishes), that’s a problem?
Finished in Europe nearly every single year for the last 20 years.
We’ve set ourselves up with work over a 15+ year period (which is where credit has to go to Levy & the owners), which yes has impacted us on the pitch negatively, to be in one of the best financial positions of any club in Europe.
But no, according to these angry fans it’s purely and simply because we are attached to some nonsense ‘big six’ label
This mean students up to Year 11 will not be able to revise GCSE biology on Freesciencelessons YouTube channel.
This also mean a 15 years and 364 days old not be able to read Facebook posts from their MP or councillor, but expected to vote for them tomorrow.
It's absolutely baffling to see the backlash against this announcement.
Imagine complaining that the UK is securing a multi-billion-pound private investment.
Let's look at the actual numbers: taxpayers are funding £1.3bn for local roads & a new rail station. In return, Universal is spending £5 billion to build the park and another £1 billion operating it.
Bedford(& the UK) gets 28,000 total jobs, a massive revitalization of a former industrial site, & a projected £50 billion economic boost.
The sheer cynicism around projects like this is exactly what holds the UK back. If we treat massive, job-creating investments as something to be outraged about, we only guarantee our own economic stagnation.

The UK is 51-55° North, it is on the same latitude as Siberia, and Alaska.
In the UK, 26.6 million of the 28 million households are heated with natural gas.
The British government is concerned about the country’s vulnerability to natural gas shocks.
The government’s solution is that the UK must produce less natural gas domestically. So a 70% windfall tax is applied to domestic gas production.
British voters agree. 🤔
As a result, there now isn’t enough gas for electricity generation. Electricity prices are rising.

It’s difficult to be sympathetic here, maybe a sympathetic approach is that the UK is a good case study for mass delusion? Maybe people have been manipulated to feel this way?
If they haven’t, then it’s difficult to be sympathetic.
“For Britain, there is a harder lesson. We couldn’t have done it. We do not have the platforms, the satellites, the reach or the mass. Our rescue plan, if the airman were British, would be to call the US.”
Britain leaving North Sea oil in the ground while importing energy is one of the most insane economic policies in modern history.
We should be going all in on British oil & gas.
Ed Miliband will end up on the wrong side of history in the energy debate.
Countries that chose nuclear power and domestic oil will have cheap, reliable energy.
Countries that choose wind & solar will have high bills and weak industry.
History is very unforgiving about energy policy.
Blocking oil and gas production in the North Sea, especially now is simply an act of monumental political self-harm. Domestic gas from Jackdaw and oil from Rosebank are essential for jobs and for energy security. 1/2

Under even basic scrutiny, Ed Miliband’s Net Zero agenda begins to fall apart.
Britain should be all in on North Sea oil and gas, using our own resources, creating jobs, and securing our energy future.
Normally I describe journo @lewis_goodall snarkily as "Labour activist". But here he really puts @Ed_Miliband on the spot here. He accuses EM of "leaving revenue in the ground".
He's ask to explain why Norway is still expanding its production & Denmark paused its rowback.
To the crew of HMS Dragon,
As you sail toward uncertain waters, there are families on shore who understand exactly what that means.
This isn’t routine. It isn’t ceremonial. You are heading into potential harm’s way, and we don’t pretend otherwise. That truth sits quietly in kitchens and living rooms across the country tonight.
When a Royal Navy ship deploys for real, something far more important than headlines takes its place:
Pride. Respect. And concern.
You are trained for this. You are professional. You stand watch in places most of us will never see, so that others can live ordinary lives in safety.
For some of us, this deployment is not abstract. It is deeply personal. A daughter. A son. A name on that ship that means everything back home.
So go with steady heads and trust in your training. Look after one another. Keep your discipline, keep your humour, and watch each other’s backs.
Do what you must do.
And when it’s done, come home safe.
There will be lights on, and people waiting. ❤️
