@Wizards_DnD If you're going to make a fighter subclass with a mount, why not the Griffon Cavalry of Waterdeep? At least that's on the sword coast and doesn't change the lore of the Purple Dragon Knights of Cormyr. Purple Dragons fit better as tacticians and group fighters/leaders.
I think a return to the classic, episodic, and modular storytelling might be in the cards for me, especially for my next foray into DMing. I think in my last campaign I was too zeroed in on this modern way of play with a long overarching plot that just drained me to write.
I've been listening to the Conan Weird Tales Omnibus for the better part of the last week or two (Mostly don't have the time to put any major dents into this 30+ hour collection atm) and I'm realizing that I'm enjoying the episodic nature of the stories.

Seems like a fun way to run a not-so-serious D&D campaign. Every once in a while get the buddies together and dust off our character sheets for another one-shot adventure in a new land doing new things. How'd we get there? Who cares, we're here now! Sounds like fun.
Going into it blind, I'd mistakenly assumed it would follow a more cohesive narrative (not that the world of the Hyborean Age has been inconsistent to my recollection) with Conan progressing through various novelettes and novellas.
Wish I knew what tooth was hurting so bad. Need to see a dentist or something, cause hot damn. At least the old shot of whiskey trick worked to calm it down. Maybe now I can sleep?
Choice paralysis has been hitting me hard this last year. It's hard to pick up my phone, or look at my monitor and consciously decide why I'm even looking at it, sans notification. What void in my time was I trying to fill again?
If I'm bursting with energy and I'm floundering to find a way to expel it, that's no good. Indecision feels like a dangerous thing nowadays. Up till now having the world at my finger tips didn't give me anxiety, it was exciting. Now that my hobbies have grown so broad...
I've never been religious... agnostic is a nice way of putting it, but in the words of her best friend, Sister Berthina, "She's in the lords hands now, and what a mighty place to be."
My grandmother passed away tonight. She was... a pillar of strength and faith, and one of my best friends. She taught me a lot about good, and the nature of myself and others. I'll always carry her lessons, her music, and her love in my heart.
