Uber and Waymo are sooooo fucked if Tesla gets anywhere close to producing 2 million Cybercabs per year.

A lot of people laugh at that number today.

But remember, they all also laughed at Tesla ramping EV production too.

Tesla’s long-term goal is to build ~2 million Cybercabs per year at full production capacity. That’s roughly 38,000 vehicles every week. It’s basically what Tesla produces today per year give or take, just for Cybercabs.

Production has already started at Giga Texas, and like every major Tesla product, it’s going through the slow, difficult ramp that Elon has repeatedly said we’d expect.

BTW, this is absolutely normal when you’re building an entirely new vehicle with new manufacturing processes.

But now there is footage coming out that the team is ramping Cybercabs… it’s happening.

Bro… just imagine millions of purpose-built, driverless vehicles that don’t need a human behind the wheel, can operate 24/7 around the clock, and are designed to make transportation dramatically cheaper. When Tesla executes on that vision, the economics of ride-hailing will change in a way the industry has never seen before.

So many people are underestimating the Cybercab imo.

Execution is never guaranteed, and there are still technical, regulatory, and competitive hurdles ahead. But if Tesla reaches ANYTHING close to its long-term Cybercab production goals, the entire transportation industry, including companies like Uber and Waymo, will maybe go bankrupt… for real.
