The school council met last week to share thoughts and ideas about how to celebrate Red Nose Day and World Book Day. Please encourage your child to speak to their school council representative about their ideas. 📚
Here are our competition winners from before half term with their prize (minus one child who was away!) I hope you enjoy reading your books and learning about these influential people 🤩 #ElsecarSC
Prizes are on the way and will have arrived ready for children’s return after half term. I will share with the children tomorrow what their special prize is 😃
Here we have our winners! We are absolutely thrilled at the effort that has gone into these wonderful projects. All of these educate us about some park of Black History. We are hoping to find a way to showcase these in school 😊 #ElsecarSchoolCouncil
We had a meeting today to judge competition entries for our Black History Month competition. We loved looking at all the wonderful resources! 😃 #ElsecarSchoolCouncil
Wow! Just look at all of these absolutely incredible entries for our Black History Month competition 😃 I absolutely love the variety of resources, from moving buses to books of famous quotes, the children have created some wonderful pieces of work 🤩
Today our school council taught us all about Black History Month and why we celebrate it. They spoke about key historical figures and gave information about how we are celebrating it in school. Great work everyone 😃🤩 #BlackHistoryMonth
They also requested that we learn through our reading lessons too. Therefore, all classes next week will focus their reading lessons on either a famous person or a book that teaches us about the history of black people. What a wonderful idea suggested by our children 😃
The School Council have been busy discussing how to celebrate, learn and educate others about Black History Month. They decided to host a competition where children are to create an educational resource to teach others about it. All parents received a letter about this. 📚📖
Classes have been completing a very important job today as it has been our school council elections! Children who have made the school council will be announced on Monday in collective worship. #ElsecarSC
Another great school council meeting this week! We are preparing to share with children coming up into our year groups what it’s like in our current years. We wrote down lots of things we’ve learnt about this year 😊
