@MsJasmineMN @AnansiRyans We teach the play adaption of Small Island to Y9 and there are some explicit sex scenes in the stage directions which is a bit too mature for year 7.
However, Benjamin Zephaniah has a novel suitable for 11+ readers called Windrush Child which has similar themes.

It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

After a whirlwind couple of weeks getting used to my new job, it was lovely to have a day with @TeachFirst. Learned so much but my biggest take home was we are all finding our feet, we aren’t perfect and that’s okay! LOVE this journey I am on! #teachfirst2020
