Mike Tyson wore a Ukrainian embroidered shirt to a boxing legends parade in New York.

The World Boxing Stars Parade was held on August 15 in Brownsville, Brooklyn, in honor of American boxer Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington. Tyson, Zab Judah and Riddick Bowe were among the boxing legends who attended the event.

Tyson drew particular attention by wearing a traditional Ukrainian vyshyvanka instead of his usual sportswear. He has not publicly explained why he chose the shirt.

Tyson has a connection to Ukraine through Camilla Ewald, a Ukrainian-born American who, together with legendary trainer Cus D’Amato, helped raise Tyson and played an important role in his early development as a boxer. Ewald was born in the Ternopil region of Ukraine.
