Just trying to make the most out of #EM203
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”– Ferris Bueller
At last night's @OntEdWorkers town hall @birgitomo suggested that @fordnation, @Sflecce, @celliottability or others from Cabinet come spend 4 hours with her on an ICU shift so they can understand what's happening.
How about it, leaders? 4 hours on a critical care nursing shift?
@NaheedD@NaheedD Do you believe that there is enough research that can inform evidence based policy changes to tackle the rising rates of CVD among these disproportionally impacted communities in Canada?
@NaheedD what do you propose is the first step to tackling health disparities such as the disproportionate risk for cardiovascular disease among South Asians living in Canada ?
The solution to decreasing the CVD health disparity among SAs living in Canada (and to address other health disparities among BIPOCs) is providing culturally competent care👏 #EM203Robin#EM203Research
Below is an article addressing the increased❤️CVD❤️ risk among the South Asian population. It compiles information from many of the limited studies done on this subset of the population that is disproportionately impacted by CVD #EM203Robin#EM203Research https://t.co/Sk2uIGdnzQ
I got the COVID-19 vaccine today! My wing is feeling a little sore, but it'll give my body an extra protective boost that keeps me and others healthy.
Ms. @EricaRHill even said I’ve been getting vaccines since I was a little bird. I had no idea!
As much as we don't want to think about the realities of our loved ones passing away, we should be pushing our governments to invest in palliative care & programs helping seniors age at home.Everyone deserves to choose where they will age and/or die #EM203Robin#EM203Research
Serious question: When 85% of Canadians say that their preference is to die at home but only 15% actually do...why do we continue to invest so little in palliative care?
A thread on death & dying in Canada 🙏🏾...

@EM203mfoley It is crazy that the internet really is a new concept in history. Can you imagine society today without it's technological advances. I feel the internet is the reason society and research have gotten to where they are!
@fari6820 It really is amazing how applicable our course content is to our every day lives in university! I wish I learned more about learning theories and what works best for me a lot sooner though 😅
@EM203lmorris Hey Laura! It is so great to see that people like you who are going to be our future teachers are taking courses that teach you how to best use technology in the classroom! You will be so well prepped for this new generation that's born into technology🧑💻
@EM203AF Great share! The internet is great, isn't it? Can you even imagine having to do things like research papers without being able to use online databases?!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one excited by the course content😃
@EM203SanjayRam I can't believe it has been 3 weeks! I too believe I am seeing new ways to use technology. We should certainly use what we learn in this class outside of it! I'm most excited for the lesson on global perspectives!
While reading the first three lessons of the course, it got me thinking about all the ways I could and should be using technology. I should capitalize on the potential of social media to expand both my knowledge and outreach within the community #potentialoftechnology#EM203Robin
