With the rapidly inflating prices of homes in southern Ontario, many are being priced out of the areas in which they live. Are you concerned about housing affordability, and being able to live on your own after school? #EM203Problem
Place the focus on Ontarians and the ordinary citizen who needs a place to live, rather than allowing private groups and foreign buyers to snatch up the supply and perpetuate the problem
@housingON@fordnation As a young person who hopes to see this housing crisis subside, the Housing Affordability Task Force is a welcome sight - however, there needs to be more representation from those who are actually struggling, for a universal solution to the problem
@EM203ntapiero It is so difficult to see happening! But there are things that can be done to decrease the demand pressure and drive down prices - here’s a tweet that shows how Berlin may be an example of how to decrease prices in a metropolitan market:
Yes, absolutely, Toronto and other major Canadian cities should emulate Berlin's example and expropriate housing units from corporate landlords in order to increase the supply of affordable housing.

@kjacksonatwlu Hi professor, rapidly inflating housing prices is a pretty big issue in economics right now, and the government just released news of their task force and its goals - what are your thoughts on their plan to control it?
Ontario’s housing task force is comprised of voices clearly sympathetic to the @OntarioPCParty and @fordnation, aka banking, developers, and industry lobbyists.
Yes we’re disappointed. But we’ll reach out to engage them and hope for the best.

University students and young professionals across the province are all in the same boat - I’ll be sharing the research I’ve conducted on this issue, and what you can do to help solve the problem

As we deal with our own housing crisis here in Canada, here’s a look at how some other countries across the world are trying to handle their own inflated house prices in an infographic I have prepared:
@SteveClarkPC how will the new affordability task force involve other members and groups of the community in the decision making, and how can those people help solve the problems we’re facing in the market?
@JessicaBellTO I’m investigating the problem of housing affordability and the rapid inflation in the market for a school project - what would you say is the most integral component of reaching a solution for what’s going on in the GTA and Ontario as a whole?
As we mark Remembrance Day, the Sydney Opera House sails illuminated with red poppies to commemorate the service and sacrifice of our veterans and current serving personnel. #9News

In researching the problem of inflation in Canada driving up costs of living, I found this website which provides opposing views on how the recent minimum wage hike in Ontario could affect inflation going forward #EM203Research https://t.co/5bz8u2YSiu
The debate on one of the world’s most pressing issues sparked by this conversation is of great interest to me, and I will be following closely #EM203Robin EM203Research
@EM203BCaldarone I enjoyed following your thought process on your mind map! It caused me to think about the problems of mental health that have surfaced in the work/study from home environment as a result of COVID #EM203problems
