In countries where governments are struggling to provide their people with clean water, food, and shelter, how can they also support growing mental health issues? These people face problems just like everyone, but they have no way of dealing with them. #EM203Weber#EM203WProblem
@amandaspicker Based on what you know about treating mental illness in Canada, what would you say are some basic first steps that people in developing countries should take to start treating mental illness, considering their limited resources.
This picture illustrates the extreme lack of funding that developing countries receive for mental health issues. Countries spend immense money on so many things, but so little of that goes to the countries who need it most.
Hey @EM203NROY, another issue you could address in your concept map is the difficulty in identifying issues such as depression since there are often no visible signs to other people. #EM203Wproblems
Hey @EM203BrittanyS, another aspect you could address in your concept map are proactive steps people can take to help reduce stress before it becomes an issue. #EM203Wproblems
Hey @EM203NRom, another aspect you could address in your concept map is the things that the average person can do in their everyday lives to help save the bees. #EM203Wproblems
Hey @EM203CStevenson, another issue you could address in your concept map is the stigma surrounding addiction as a mental illness and how people are trying to change the view of addiction in our society. #EM203Wproblems
Hey @EM203Bayanshah, another issue you could address in your concept map is how pollution is destroying aquatic ecosystems which is where most of the oxygen in our world comes from. #EM203Wproblems
Hey @EM203Ajeth, another issue you could address in your concept map is the amount of food that our society wastes when people in many countries struggle to even have enough food to live. #EM203Wproblems
@Em203JSpicker Hey! Good start to your concept map. A problem relating to mental health that you could discuss is resources that offer help. This could include problems such as availability of resources, access to these resources, and the cost of these resources. #EM203Wproblems
@EM203NROY I also enjoy the weekly learning experiments as an addition to the course lessons because they are an interactive and easy way to learn a concept through your own experiences.
@EM203Bayanshah Yeah it was very interesting to realize all the aspects of connectivism that are present in my everyday life when I had never ever heard of connectivism before
@EM203NRom Yeah this has been my experience with Twitter so it has been very interesting learning how to navigate it and use a platform that so many people use everyday.
@Em203Ilana I noticed that, and I find it very interesting that the course often implements the learning theories we are being taught to better understand them.
After the first few weeks of #EM203Weber, I had my first experience with Twitter, learned about the variety of learning theories that exist, and got to learn a new skill. The course has had so much more variety than I expected, and I am enjoying it a lot so far.
