Without substantial changes soon, we will experience severe damage from climate change. The real action must come from government and corporate leaders, who are hesitant to act as they fear reduction efforts will diminish their growth opportunities. #EM203Robin#EM203Problem
@UNFCCC What are your thoughts on companies divesting their assets with high carbon emissions rather than working with management teams to make the business more sustainable and being environmentally-conscious in future investments? #Climatechange
@climate what are key action items you believe institutional investors should be focusing on to push their portfolio companies to take action on climate change? I am exploring this topic for a university course and your scope of opinion would benefit my research greatly!
Institutional investors play an important role in pushing companies to take action on climate change. The image below from BCG outlines the steps these investors can take to help transition their portfolio companies and boards to a low-carbon world.
Without a drastic change in direction, society will experience severe environmental & economic damage from #climatechange. Check out this how-to series from BCG that discusses the impact & how we can flip the script. https://t.co/HfvBkK0AsC
AOC is a prime example of how powerful the use of social media can be in spreading awareness of political and economic issues the US and world are facing today. Take a look at her Twitch stream where she discussed free healthcare in the UK. #EM203Robin
Earlier in this course I tweeted about behaviourism, but today I wanted to share another learning theory that I think more closely represents how I learn in the digital age - connectivism. Check out this YouTube video that does a great job explaining! https://t.co/Rs1nA5BwHU
@Em203Sakshi Hi! I agree that the importance of understanding how learning theories apply to how we interact with technology has become increasingly relevant since the pandemic began. I’m looking forward to learning more about this in EM203!
@EM203OBourrie Hi Owen! You’re right, technology has become increasingly relevant to people globally since the shift to working remotely began in March. It enables and enhances communication and collaboration on multiple levels!
@EM203Anniex Hey Annie! I agree, the extent to which we can access information in this rapidly evolving digital age is astounding. It enables more opportunities for learning and collaboration on so many platforms!
@moor6240 Hey Steven! I also found it interesting to learn about the different styles of learning in the digital world today. As the digital world evolves, we must adapt through learning about these new technologies and how they can benefit our everyday lives.
@jori_levy Hi Jori! I agree, it’s been very interesting to learn about the different learning theories and media in a range of forms. Can’t wait to learn more!
So far in #EM203Robin I’ve studied behaviourism - the theory that behaviour is simply a response to stimuli in one’s environment, which conceptually is operant learning. I’m looking forward to learning more about these theories and their relevance in this evolving digital world!
