A problem that is relevant to me is the issue of alcohol abuse amongst post-secondary students. Being a university student, you can easily be exposed to environments where alcohol is praised despite its abuse and health related issues. #EM2O3Robin#EM203Problem
@RubyGallant1 This is great! I got the opportunity to learn about different learning theories and how I can personally apply them in my own studying. Similarly, I have discovered the use of social media to help deepen understandings in our learnings.
@ethanthom13 I agree, the possibilities are endless when it comes to learning online! Different theories, opinions, and thoughts can be shared online and be learned through other people's perspectives which individuals may have not thought of.
@MFeldmanEM203 Social media has had a great impact on our lives throughout recent years and is often looked at as just a platform to share aspects of your life but there can be many learning benefits through social media as well such as sharing ideas and thoughts.
@EM203SarahHump I feel the same way, there are multiple learning approaches that I was not previously aware of before and theories such as connectivism will definitely be incorporated in my studying!
@EM203hkokal I agree! The media has a great impact on our learning and shapes how we learn. Also, due to media, multi-tasking has increased which may not be a great thing in terms of deepening our understandings.
I've had an insightful first 3 weeks!
I found this statistic "one-third of the students worry that they spend too much time online” (Steeves, 2014) to be relatable. Also, realized that Connectivism is a great learning theory to start implementing while studying! #EM203Robin
