It’ll be a good day when my curling focus circles back to topics like bonspieling, competing, traveling… my true love for this sport and a long-standing passion of mine.
Until then, why don’t we clean out the outdated bullsh*t, keep the good stuff, and find better ways for all.
And this is the perfect time to remind “@HeartofCurling” that we’re waiting for a follow-up in the wake of the Plush investigation’s release.
76 years of standing up for women in curling means vocalizing and mobilizing support, or else it’s all a pantomime.
Ironic handle, much?
1) Glad the report is out.
2) What the actual f?
We’re living in post #metoo, post @USAGym, and on and on… how did anyone involved find this to be a sufficient investigation?
Following the release of the NWSL and NWSLPA Joint Report, the USA Curling Board of Directors is releasing the reports it commissioned that were completed by independent investigators.

Astute takes in condensed format.
I appreciate curlers who simply tell it like it is. A breath of fresh air in a stale room… so dang refreshing!
More of this, folks! ✌🏼
A quick message from the team at USA Curling. In the transition phase we're in, we're having issues accessing our YouTube channel. The Town Hall was ready to post earlier today but we've faced that challenge. We'll get it posted as soon as possible.
FYI @usacurl is inviting AAC eligible athletes to a smaller group Town Hall discussion w/Dean, TOMORROW 11/4 at 7 PM ET.
Remember to fill out this form if you’re AAC eligible (competed in W/M/MxD Nats in last 10 years) & I’m happy to forward the email to anyone who needs it. ✌🏼
Nice. This is a step toward the change I’d like to see @usacurl and within the AAC. 👍
If you’re AAC eligible, please fill out this form to be better included and involved:

Why don’t more competitive curlers speak up?
Is it a matter of caring or not?
Most likely, it’s the toxic culture that has signaled to stay silent on important issues, or else you may “miss out on opportunities”
I’ll just say, what’s the point of it all if you lose your voice?
@CatalopeMeow @TheCraftyCurler@_jennamartin15 Right. And that’s the problem.
“Fully educated” on the issue, yet *completely surprised* at the response they received after the MA vote.
…Um, ok. 🤔
For sure.
@CatalopeMeow @TheCraftyCurler@_jennamartin15 I understand you’re in a unique position, being married to someone privy to insider info (his words).
But as fellow curlers and USAC members, assuming you are (?), I think its best to respect that we’re just not going to see eye to eye on this one.
@_jennamartin15 Didn’t want to assume yours was a rhetorical question, however it’s looking like you dropped one & boogied.
RR showed up to vote on behalf of the AAC.
And while he’s a part of it, that’s not what I meant by “athletes speaking up”
Though I’m pretty sure you knew that already.
@CatalopeMeow @TheCraftyCurler@_jennamartin15 As for the harassing, that’s unfortunate. I know nothing about that, but what I’ve heard. Which isn’t much.
@stephenleeham For sure. Changes were made because people/clubs/regions voiced their concerns.
Now let’s see whether these changes turn out to be the “right thing” long-term, or just short-term.
Hoping we see clear and definite benefits for all levels of @usacurl athletes and members.
@palmettocurling@Runner3289 From what I’ve gathered, the AAC votes (& most likely regional votes) were already very much decided pre-MA.
No amount of “day of” discussion was going to sway that big chunk of votes.
When you look at it that way, seems like those in favor just wanted to get it over with. 🤷🏻♀️
More big changes @usacurl?
Let this be another meaningful step toward a more transparent, inclusive, and responsive organization.
For the love of curling… Now’s the time.
