”Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”
Well, I don’t know about you but I don’t consider ”climate targets” putting us on track for 2,4°C and current policies indicating we’re headed for 2,9°C (excluding most tipping points, feedback-loops etc) to be ”good”.

@JohnGlenUK have you watched @seaspiracy yet on @netflix ? Our constituency isn’t too far from the coast. In fact, as an island, no constituency is too far from the coast. How about some marine protected areas and no fish zones around the UK? 🐟 🐋 🐬 @wwf_uk@mcsuk@seashepherd
@mcsuk Hi I’ve checked your website and looked at your PDF for your strategy - sustainable fishing and farming practices are mentioned, although over time hopefully our oceans will recover, I think you need to move to add another message on your website. Reduce the consumption of fish.
Thank you @GeorgeMonbiot for being a part of the amazing @seaspiracy documentary and for SPELLING it out. I had tried the plastic swaps to avoid unnecessary waste (and will keep doing so), but, clearly straws aren’t the main culprit. 🎣
13. Support @seashepherd and @Greenpeace. Build movements against industrial fishing, not plastic straws. Demand massive and meaningful marine reserves.
Tell the truth.
And stop eating fish.
Thank you.

Yes ban single use plastics, reduce your own waste but straws only amount to 0.03% of ocean waste. Then there’s fishing... @oceana@mcsuk you guys need to update your websites to talk about reducing the amount of food people eat. It’s a no-brainer.
5. 46% OF THE GREAT PACIFIC GARBAGE PATCH IS COMPRISED OF FISHING NETS.
Which are far more dangerous for marine life than plastic straws because they're designed to kill.
