Barnsley is a great place to work as a trainee. It’s a very friendly DGH and this looks like a great opportunity for those interested in leadership roles.
The annual EMTA survey is open until end of Jan
We need to get the views of every UK EM trainee (CT1+) on training, work and more. Takes about 15 mins to complete. Will feed directly into discussions with @RCollEM to help to drive change

Great morning of OSCE prep with @barnshospital trainee paediatric ANPs! And there has been an exciting ‘delivery’ @BarnsleySim - maternal care patient simulator now in the lab
Great to see more and more excellence reports being submitted @barnshospital Emergency Dept. Easy to set up, provides great learning opportunities and recognises some of the amazing work from our colleagues.
Interested in a 50% med ed and 50% clinical post in a friendly, well supported DGH ED? Also includes a funded PgCert in Med Ed. Closing date is 11th Dec - get in touch if you want more info https://t.co/mstD7R1WGa
We've got another fantastically in-depth #Radiology infographic by @drsarahedwards on Paediatric Elbows: how to review the x-ray, ossification centres and the rare/common types of injuries that may present to the Emergency Department 🔎💪
@DyfrigH Healthcare workers overall are at a higher risk of suicide but ONS thinks this is 'largely explained by the higher risk of suicide among nurses' (23% above national average). This is the ONS’s interpretation of the data and I've not looked at the data in more detail (yet...) 2/2
At the recent @RCEMevents Y&H study day we had a talk from our psychiatry colleagues on suicide risk assessment - Here are some facts from that talk.
@DyfrigH Always worth a closer look, just because someone said it at a study day/conference/on twitter doesn't make it true! On looking into the ONS report - it does say suicide rates are lower in male medical practitioners than gen pop (between 2011-2015). 1/2
Doctors now have a lower risk of suicide when compared with the general population (amongst male doctors it is 37% lower). There are still high risk groups within this - anaesthetists, psychiatrists and GPs (Source ONS)
