When will Nigerians truly breathe?
A timely and relevant question, as a new 5% tax on all refined fossil fuel sales, including petrol and diesel, has just been announced by the Federal Government.
That is, Nigerians will pay a 5% tax when buying their everyday fuel or diesel at a time when millions can hardly even afford the cost of transportation.
Mr. President just yesterday boasted that Nigeria has met its revenue target for the year. Yet instead of easing hardship, the government imposes more burden on Nigerians.
Even the so-called alternative, CNG, has become unaffordable, rising from about ₦230 to ₦450, while the promised subsidies on the CNG have quietly vanished.
If our revenues are truly ‘excessive’ as claimed, should they not first be used to fund education, healthcare and pulling Nigerians out of poverty? Why tax citizens who cannot even breathe anymore?
This 5% fuel tax should wait until Nigerians begin to see tangible improvements in their lives from all the many promises from Mr. President.
Leadership is not about giving a burden, it is about reducing suffering, it is about care and compassion.

Everyone wants this road fixed
Everyone will pay taxes to see it fixed
However, if you post “fix this road” there will be more people angry about your post than angry that this road exists in an oil State in 2025
I dunno why you all think i was referring to the lady in the video.
I dont know her, neither do i know her story.
I was only agreeing to the fact that you don’t blackmail God by testifying to his name when you know you didn’t get the testimony through God.
To lecture you all, firstly let all agree that Children are blessings from God! No one is disputing that.
But having a child, is ordained already for every human under the permissive will of God any how you get the child, even if you go beg for the child from shrine, same thing as ritual, Wealth or being wealthy is already under the permissive will of God for all man.
I wasn’t and would not be against having these blessings under the permissive will of God because God has permitted it for everyone, either you believe or not.
I wasn’t only making a comment on how you drag God into what you know clearly you didn’t get it under God standards, but he allows you to have it because it has been ordained for humans under the His permissive will.
Permissive will of God are for everyone, Good or bad!
You don’t need a pastor to pray for you to be rich, it is our Abrahamic blessing, it is for you as it is for me, you only need to act on claiming the blessing by working hard.
So all of you asking for Gods standard, meet your pastors or imams, read religious books, and devote your self to the Bible. If you have done this while you were quite younger, you all wont be asking questions now.
Don’t just be Fanatic church goer in the name of Christianity who mix civilization with spirituality, be a radical Christian, ask your pastors questions, ask your Bible questions, and you shall find answers.

Again our President moves as the Nation bleeds
Amid the deplorable state of our nation in all ramifications, we have a virtually indifferent President who has continued to display insensitivity to our situation.
How can anyone explain that a President who came from Brazil recently and met with the President is returning to the same country, leaving the various degrees of challenges at home unresolved?
The latest itinerary of the President shows he will depart Abuja on Thursday, August 14, for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil.
The President will stop over in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before proceeding to Japan. In Japan, President Tinubu will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in the City of Yokohama from August 20 to 22. The itinerary is silent on the President's return date to his visibly troubled nation.
The situation we find ourselves in is deeply worrisome. Our President, who has not found it worthy to visit any of our troubled states, takes joy in travelling to foreign countries at the slightest invitation or excuse. Often departing several days even before the events he’s invited to.
In his last trip, for instance, he had a one-week State visit to St lucia before attending the BRICS Summit, where Nigeria was merely invited as an observer, though the role was dressed up as “partner” to the invitation, which was more significant. The leaders of actual member countries who attended only arrived a day or two at most for the event.
Nigeria’s insecurity situation, economic hardship, and human suffering have reached their peak. We are now counted among the most insecure nations, the most fragile economies, and the hungriest countries in the world. This dire reality demands the full attention of Mr. President, and his travels should be more within our troubled states and communities, spending time on the ground, and taking decisive action to alleviate the people’s suffering rather than these overseas conferences that contribute little or no tangible value to our nation's woes. And where the trip is necessary at all, it could be attended in just a few days rather than indulging in prolonged, unnecessary absences from a country that requires 24/7 attention.
What our nation needs now is security of lives and properties, economic stability and ensuring that our people have food on their table.
Our President's planned trip of 12 days departing today, if necessary, should have been at most a 5-day trip as the event he was invited to in Japan commences on the 20th.
Nigeria today demands competent leadership with capacity and compassion to start dealing with the problems besetting it with the presence and sacrifice required.
Mr. President must, as a matter of urgency, commence tours of our states with the same enthusiasm he shows for jetting out of the country every month. These visits will enable him to see, listen and learn more about what Nigerians are going through.
Though Nigerians know that our huge problems cannot be solved overnight, they want to see 100% effort and tireless commitment to solving them.
Most importantly, our President must know that he's not a tourist, but the Chief Executive of a troubled nation, so he must have consciousness, strict work schedules and a strict travelling schedule to show that he has a troubled country to quickly return to.

What you do in private, shows in public. Reading shows in a conversation. Your diet shows in energy. Your discipline shows in confidence. Your focus shows in your results. You are what you cultivate when no one is watching. Prioritize your time & focus on discipline/consistency.
Today, we conducted an inspection tour across several ongoing road projects in Aba, beginning at Eberi Omuma, progressing through Obohia, and concluding at Ohanku. It was an opportunity to assess progress firsthand and address pressing concerns.
At Obohia, it became evident that the drainage system had been poorly channelled, resulting in localised flooding. I have directed the contractor to ensure immediate corrective work. Moving forward, the drainage will be redirected appropriately into the Aba River to mitigate future occurrences.
I also urged residents to adopt more responsible waste disposal practices, as environmental health is a shared responsibility and a foundation for sustainable development.
I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming show of support from the people of Aba who came out en masse. Your encouragement strengthens our resolve to deliver on our commitments and build the future we all deserve.
And.....the strange bit is......what they call Obi's simple lifestyle is actually how normal people are supposed to live.
Nigerian politicians live such abnormal lives that they don't realise that they are not ok.
The Bible states that only Jesus of Nazareth can provide forgiveness of sins, the gift of eternal life, and adoption as a child of God.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

The society we abuse today will eventually take its toll on our children, because they will only learn by our example. Everything we are experiencing in our country today is a reflection of the decay of civility and orderliness.
When we choose to conduct both our public and personal lives with bad behaviour and rascality, we normalise bad behaviour, lawlessness, and criminality.
I watched a heartbreaking video that showed students in Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State running for their lives as they were being shot at during their student election yesterday which left 2 students dead and several injured.
The question is: Where did they learn it from?
Are they cursed, or are we the political leaders who are cursed?
When we have chosen to "fight, snatch it, grab it, and run with it" how can we expect our children to do it rightly and democratically when they have learned from us?
This is not just disgraceful, it’s a national indictment. When we, the leaders, have chosen to fight, snatch, grab and run with it, our children have learned similar and rascality is now a normal situation.
It is now up to us, the leaders, to learn how to restore civility, order, and core values in our society by ensuring that our character and behaviour reflect the change we seek in our society.
We must do better, for our students, for our children, and for our country.
