@TheGeorgePu Sure they will have frontier models always but at a certain point, good enough is good enough. Along with that chips will get better. They will ditch the old stuff and it will become more available. So you get the good enough ceiling and the last gen hardware.
@TheGeorgePu There is an eventual ceiling with code and agentic tasks that make it useful for software. The difference between models will get smaller and the primary consumers of AI will have less of a need for a subscription. That will likely bring the cost down.
@iruletheworldmo I have them build different path finding algorithms in c++. They all make working ones, but what I care about most is taste in these cases. I usually have them build a* with context steering to start with and expand out.
@kapilansh_twt IDK. But Claude recently has been stellar. I only have their $100 plan vs a codex $200 plan and I haven't hit a usage wall yet as opposed to codex.
@Stefan_3D_AI@mixie3D I don't get it. Also, can't anyone just fork it, strip them from the service and wire up their own connection to local AI or codex or Claude, etc. I don't understand why anyone would pay for this. In a day or two you could gut it and fit it to your needs locally.
@SebAaltonen@ChombaBupe Kind of beside the point anyway. It isn't a closed loop and it cannot alter itself with emergent pattern recognition among several other things. The cartoons framing is just false equivalence. Deeply disingenuous.
@PCVRGamer I get vr motion sickness very easily, but the last headset I tried was the quest 2 and the iPad adjustments on that are bad for smaller heads. I assume it's partially that.
@ivanfioravanti Google holding a coding model competition for gemma 4. I think they are more interested than you realize. Eliminate competition in the coding space by allowing users to do it locally and keep the edge in integration with services and they effectively kill openai and anthropic.
@TokenGremlin It's definitely openai. Claude is meant more for code still so people are biased because most users are leveraging it for code. That said, I would say Google is a missing element here and they have my real vote. Unless ssi pans out.
@amypretzel Just a quick thought, btw. You could add word suggestions for manual fixes of words. Hover over the word or highlight it and show a list of potential alternatives. A good intuitive fix while working on improvements.
