NEW: Wisconsin got big news last week, with projections showing the state bringing in $1.53 *billion* more than expected.
But, as @EmilyforWI puts it, "Money in Madison doesn’t mean a thing if it never makes it back to Main Street."
Let's recombobulate
Democrats consistently overperforming by 10 to 20 points in very low turnout state and House specials was notable, but tonight's 13 point overperformance is happening in a midterm level turnout environment, which is a totally different animal.

"We're going to rebuild together, even if it takes a generation."
Contributor @EmilyforWI ran in an "unwinnable" race in the State Assembly in 2024. She's running again in 2026. Here's why:

@DanRShafer Same. Except with doxxing campaigns resulting in firings and even the VP’s podcast today promising a crackdown on dissent, it feels like the online is already crossing into real life.
I’ll be honest: the response to the past week’s events has made me sick. The cruelty and gloating leave me worried about the world my kids are growing up in.
When leaders dehumanize whole groups, it trickles down into our lives, making us all less safe.
"Every time either side chooses to treat fellow Americans as enemies to be destroyed, it feeds the same permission structures that make violence feel inevitable."

We left our retreat in Rothschild grounded in this truth: county parties are the backbone of our movement. Every door, every volunteer, every neighbor matters. No county is too red, no step too small to help build the Wisconsin our communities deserve. @WisDems
@adamjraabe His death was a tragedy. But rejecting violence without using inflammatory language isn’t the same as sanitizing his record. It’s crucial we provide context for people reacting viscerally to what they’ve seen online and may not fully understand.
@adamjraabe You’re right - dehumanizing any group based those those identities is evil, and building a platform or business on that premise is wrong - full stop.
So is violence.
This has been a terrible week in a terrible time for our country. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an elected official, a speaker on campus engaging in free debate, a public school student, or anyone else - we all deserve to live free of the threat of gun violence.
NEW from @EmilyforWI: "Less than 48 hours in, while we have seen examples of condolences or grief, too much of the discourse following Mr. Kirk’s death has amounted to points scored in an endless online game."

Democrat Catelin Drey wins the IA-01 State Senate Special and flips the seat blue.
This win breaks the Republican supermajority in the Iowa State Senate.
NEW from @EmilyforWI: "How do we begin to repair the damage done to the Democratic brand? By showing up authentically — again and again — until people believe we actually mean it."

I know there’s *a lot* going on, butttttt can we talk about what happened last week with the Bureau of Labor Statistics—and why you should care, even if you don’t follow jobs reports?

Let’s be real:
This isn’t about some bureaucrat—it’s about us
If they can rig the numbers, they can rig the system—and then tell you it’s your fault you’re broke.
You don’t fix the economy by destroying the scoreboard.
You do it by fighting for the people getting steamrolled
